Last call there were a question regarding Azure Automation and support for PowerShell 7.4. @SydneyhSmith referred the question to @n-bajaj. Did that result in any new information? Regards Peter |

Feedback around the March/September calls being alt timing. Might be good to keep the current call in September in the AM but it be brief & have just 1 or 2 members of the team run that one as not to have everyone tied down and then add a dedicated call and calendar invite link for the evening call that's run by others in the team/wider team. Also would be worth getting numbers on the numbers that attend these calls along with any metrics on watches of the calls from youtube etc. A quick year in review recap from across the WG's would be a good thing to have on this call & perhaps should be something that we try and commit to doing each April going forward as dates wise this seems good to coincide with being just after the MVPSummit & the PowerShell.org Summit. That said we should try and bring together either all the WG members or have the WG's nominate a "lead" that is tasked to either gather & bring this information, or delegate/Voluntell another to where they can ideally in as automated a way as possible & might be good for us to get added to public datasets like the BI Dashboard etc. Though perhaps that could/should instead be a "State of the Community" type update that either aligns with the "State of the Shell" session the team already does or is a more feature rich part of that one with getting some insights & data from people like @gaelcolas @SQLDBAWithABeard @psjamesp & @Jaykul upfront incase none of them could attend that's either lead by the team or by someone in community. I'd be happy to give on this call my insights and view, but more than happy to let this come from others instead. It for us in the wider community would be useful to better understand the level of impact and use of PowerShell and associated tech like DSC/Gallery that I feel we kinda have but is hidden today in our heads or is hidden entirely due to either not having collected metrics previously or those metrics have been deeply hidden in some cases due to user demand or legal/regulatory requirements. This is an area that I know many people are trying to understand today, especially if you either currently/have done or plan on, attending, presenting at or organising user groups and conferences in the future, as well as any other content publishing you may wanna do in the future too. I know this ties in with my own ongoing research and aligns with that of many across the PowerShell Community as well as others that are similar or totally different or even completely unrelated and will be of use across grassroot local communities as well as be of interest nationally and internationally too & may be of help in future to gather additional resources whether that be people & their time or towards tooling as well as funding & mentoring opportunities too & helps us all plan where to focus energies either seperately or collectively. @SteveL-MSFT to update on the PowerShell Team investments for 2025 blog post that he's said he will try and get one out by end of this month I'd like to have a better sense of the future intent of the install-powershell.ps1 & install-powershell.sh scripts in the repo as well as other bits that I have found & mentioned in this comment particularly on support for using the RegKeys, especially as I'd like to extend the install-powershell.ps1 script to enable the ability for it to also allow testing of installing either a PR build, a private but sharable build or a local build into either the current OS or a virtualised one whether that be in a container or a virtual machine, with a future end goal of being able to initiate the download and install of PowerShell into many of those environments all from a single script that is signed and released regularly to the Gallery so can importantly be suppported and then used by others in their environments as to reduce the need for this to be a process something that is uniquely managed and maintained across environments in future. However that direction should tie in with the goal of both potentially inboxing PowerShell in a future release of Windows & other OSes, as well as the planned work for an install-powershell7 cmdlet/native application as per the RFC0065 - Install-PowerShell7 Native Command by @theJasonHelmick I'd also like to briefly demo about my current PowerShell Profile and how I have structured it, along with future work in this area I have planned as this may tie in with the RFC @daxian-dbw has raised on PowerShell/PowerShell-RFC#386 as I manage some of this in my profile (as I'm sure others do too) as well as a quick runthrough of research I'm continuing into all different types of docs used across business and primarily focused on all things related to the processes around hardware & software development, deployment and management. Happy though for me to take this to another community call or user group & is something that I'm going to publish to my blog and YouTube channel between now and PSConfEU, now I have more of a pland around all of this solidified a bit more for the rest of the year ahead. PSGallery Web search - I've noticed that this seems to intermittently stop showing results, most commonly at quiet times of the day (4am UK time is a frequent one I see this happen) & feels like theres an architectural decision for it not to be returning from cached results & instead attempting a live query to what feels like a deprovisioned data store. I know that the gallery is built on well over a decade's worth of forked code from what powered the Nuget Gallery & was at one point provided as a now long archived repo to host a version of it yourself & whilst I know theres movement to use container registries there are lots of things around the discoverabilty & management processes of Resources used in our industry that I do think we need to be careful how we manage any transitions from the gallery as it is today whether that's to to something else entirely in future, or how we manage improvements to the gallery as how best to integrate these things going forward not only in the gallery but in other related tooling. This is particulary true when you think of how this ties in with PSResourceGet, Winget and other tooling in the ecosystem and may even be worthwhile for the Team to have as a dedicated session outside of this call or perhaps have one at Microsoft Build to discuss this more widely with others including partner teams & individuals across & outside of Microsoft. I could add more but think that's more than enough from me for this call. |

I'd like to verify the when/how for the community calls, which I only ever remember when I see them discussed here. Is https://github.com/PowerShell/PowerShell-RFC/tree/master/CommunityCall accurate? (9:30 AM PST) |
