Hey everyone, Chris here from Skeleton. As usual I wanted to share our monthly update covering a few new additions added these past few weeks, as well as discuss some new changes on the horizon. Let's dig in.
Latest Releases
First up, as mentioned in last month's update, we've now moved to a continuous release cycle. This means updates are now made available as soon as they are ready and no longer queued as part of a two week release cycle. Make sure you are monitoring the release channel to catch up with all the latest updates: https://github.com/skeletonlabs/skeleton/releases
Component API Proposals
Additionally I wanted to confirm that our newly proposed Component API changes will be moving forward as part of our upcoming "next" (aka v4) release. @Hugos68 will be taking point on this initiative, and will begin work very soon. See current progress here. This may not start right away, but you should begin to see movement on this in the near future. And if you are a contributor that wishes to volunteer and help with the transition, please feel free to reach out to either Hugo or myself on Discord in the
#contributors
channel.Svelte Summit
Next week kicks off the second in personal Svelte Summit. As you may know, this is the official conference for Svelte featuring major speakers such as Rich Harris. This is being held in Barcelona, Spain and I'm thrilled to share that both myself and long time Skeleton team member @TazorDE (Malte) will be in attendance. If you're also planning to attend and would like chat about Skeleton or just network, please do reach out in person or via my email at chris@skeleton.dev. We would love to hear from you! And of course if you cannot make it to the event, it will be live streamed and and shared on the Svelte Society YouTube page. For exact dates and times please review the event website at: https://www.sveltesummit.com/
My Schedule and Availability
Finally, I don't often speak about my personal life here for obvious reasons. But a few things are coming down the pipeline that will directly affect my availability for Skeleton. My role as core maintainer means any absence can and will likely slow things down for a bit. Thankfully this is a lot of good news and positive changes, but just wanted to give the community a heads up.
In no particular order:
That said, Skeleton is no longer built and maintained by me alone. We're lucky enough to have a small team of dedicated individuals that both contribute to the project directly and provide support to the community. I just ask or everyone's patience during this time. Note that I will still be around, and still doing what I can, but it may just be on a tighter schedule for a while. If you have questions about this, feel free to reach out in the comments section below or ping me on Discord.
Thank everyone,
Chris
