You’re right, we don’t currently have a policy for automatically closing inactive issues and pull requests. I agree that this is something we should definitely introduce. At the moment, we’re working on version 3, while also continuing to maintain and develop version 2 at a pace of roughly one major release per quarter. |

Hey CodeX team and contributors!
First, thanks! Although I don't use Editor.js in any serious project at the moment, I can't help but admire the work done here.
As I'm experimenting with Editor.js for a small personal project, I couldn't help but notice that, at the time of writing this, there are 599 open Issues dating back to October 2018 (about to complete 7 years).
I've been looking into some issues and I see something I respect a lot: the attitude asking for contributions. I think "thanks for reporting the issue but we won't prioritize it, so feel free to open a PR if that's important to you" is a perfectly valid response in a healthy Open Source project...
... but then, again at the time of writing this, there are 86 open Pull Requests dating back to September 2020 (about to complete 5 years).
Those are scary numbers, and assuming this is NOT the intention, they show that the project doesn't welcome contributions as much as you say. I imagine a lot of less seasoned developers would feel compelled to just walk away from such an amazing project and that's a shame.
I know there are a lot of things happening in the world that deserve or demand your attention but I cannot help but think that this project would benefit from having a policy for stale Issues and PRs. Something like "Issues not linked to a PR and without activity for the past 30 days, close!" and PRs older than 90 days, close!". I see this working with success in other projects, it removes noise and makes people focus on what's important, so I would like to suggest this to you. The 30 days and 90 days durations are just a suggestion, maybe some other numbers work best for your project.
Thoughts?
