For so many reasons including very limited time & energy, I have still been using Release 2020-02 WinPython64-3.7.7.1, but now due to work-related reasons, I have to upgrade WinPython, preferably to the latest stable/mature Release 2022-04 WinPython64-3.10.9.0. Again, due to time & energy restrictions, I can't upgrade incrementally through all the releases between 2020-02 and 2022-04.
So I'm wondering if after installing/extracting Winpython64-3.10.9.0.exe to a folder, say,
X:\WinPython64-3.10.9.0\
, and simply copying the[WINPYTHON_DIR]\settings
folder of WinPython64-3.7.7.1 toX:\WinPython64-3.10.9.0\
(overwriting the extractedX:\WinPython64-3.10.9.0\settings
folder), and then launching Spyder-5.4.2, will ALL Spyder settings/preferences be retained and properly migrated/upgraded from v4.1.3 to v5.4.2? Because it will be a jump from Spyder-4.1.3 to Spyder-5.4.2, skipping too many versions in between, I'm really worried about losing any setting/preference of Spyder, which is the most important thing I care about. Many thanks!
