Within the framework of activities of the feasibility study for El-Gabal El-Asfar Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvement Project, JICA has invited a number of officials from the Construction Authority for Potable Water and Wastewater (CAPW) and the Ministry of Housing and Utilities and Urban Communities (MHUUC) to Japan, to discuss topics of mutual interest, and to share the Japanese knowledge in the field of wastewater treatment plants and to help in the project's formulation.
The minister noted that the CAPW completed eight sanitation projects in Greater Cairo and Alexandria, with an investment cost $118m (EGP901m).
The project contracting authority is the Construction Authority for Potable Water and Wastewater (CAPW), the public implementing agency under the supervision of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities.
The new contract was signed at the Arab Contractors Club in Cairo, with Ibrahim Mahlab, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development, Zeinab Mounir, managing director of the Construction Authority for Potable Water and Waste Water (CAPW) along with Hassan Allam, the CEO of Hassan Allam Sons, the director of Acciona Jose Diaz and Mazen Bachir, managing director of Passavant-Roediger.
