NVZ regulations would and already do have serious impacts on farmers' mental health and the wider economic consequences would be felt as added pressure, FUW president Glyn Roberts stressed.

Within
NVZs mandatory measures are established regarding sufficient manure storage capacity, timing and location of manure application, and maximum application limits of 170 kg N/ha.
The validation experts' participation was solicited through contacts gained from the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Ziekenhuizen (Dutch Association for Hospitals,
NVZ) public database as well as through the business network of Negometrix.
They are calling for new
NVZ designations to be overturned, especially at a time of financial stress in the farming sector.
