Developers Orion Land & Leisure (Cardiff) (
OLLC) said today that the pool at the Cardiff International Sports Village in Cardiff Bay would be handed over to the operators at the end of the year.
OLLC was formed as a 50/50 joint venture between Orion Land and Leisure and Explore Investments, the development arm of Laing O'Rourke.
They are: (1) Ontario Laser and Lightwave Research Centre (
OLLC); (2) Institute for Space and Terrestrial Science (ISTS); (3) Manufacturing Research Corporation of Ontario (MRCO); (4) Waterloo Centre for Groundwater Research (WCGR); (5) Information Technology Research Centre (ITRC); (6) Ontario Centre for Materials Research (OCMR); (7) Telecommunications Research Institute of Ontario (TRIO).
Richard Olsen, chairman of Orion Land & Leisure Cardiff (
OLLC), said: 'Construction work is really progressing well on the 50-metre international swimming pool and the people of Cardiff are going to have a magnificent facility they can be very proud of.'
