This current incarnation of the SK2 Jazz Orchestra was one of the performance highlights of last year's Wigan International Jazz Festival and features a line-up handpicked by Dave for their ability to handle the unique Stan Kenton repertoire, which will include numbers like Swinghouse, What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life, Intermission Riff, plus selections from West Side Story and the Cuban Fire Suite.

University band leader Sean Miller, who plays piano with SK2 (formerly known as Shades of Kenton because it only played music by the famous arranger and band leader), says that working alongside a group of professional jazz musicians has been a positive learning experience for the students.
