When she’s not out hunting rogue vampires and werewolves, you can find Crystal Dawn out exploring the galaxy. She can do it all without ever leaving her computer. She kicks butt, takes names, and puts it all down for the enjoyment of her readers. At least that’s what I think she told me. Writing came as a natural outlet for her overly creative mind. The start of her stories is the easy part. Finishing them is a little harder when all the stories are in there trying to get out. She loves reading, chocolate, fine sweet wine, and traveling among a large list of pursuits. Her favorite people, after her family and close friends, are her readers who she says are some of the most wonderful people in this galaxy and the next.

Just finished this book, it is a short read (57 pages), but the concept is so interesting. I am hoping for a long series from this book. If you enjoy reading about dragons and alien romance, then this is a book you should read.
Basically, alien men dragon shifters are from a planet without their own females which is why they come to Earth to find mates. A mate and lots of surprise are found in Las Vegas of all places. The author made a great choice with Las Vegas as the alien's city of entrance. So much could happen in and because of Las Vegas. Giving away the story is no fun, so I only am giving the bare bones basics.
It was a dual POV, which started out making the story strong. We didn't get much from Jarel after the beginning which had me trying to guess when I would get to read his POV again, well I didn't get to so I was kinda of upset. The romance was written really hot and steamy in the first scene then got a little flat in the next few. At the end it seemed like the author was in a hurry to wrap up the story. An epilogue was given, that really could have been another book....which if I was the editor I would have suggested! I am glad this is just and introduction book and can't wait to read the rest of the series.

I didn't see any glaring errors. Yes, I am volunteering to edit this series!! However, this book would have been longer if the story was developed a little bit longer. An editor that would make some suggestions in places

It's a interesting take on paranormal, we have alien dragon shifters that are born to a all male society making their way to Earth for mates. Sounds like a lot but it totally works. They have a short (really short) time to find their one so my only drawback is that it feels a little rushed but I recommend and will be reading the next one for sure.

The author has the bare bones of a good story here, but the story lacks sizzle and fails to come to life due to lackluster writing. Although I didn't see any glaring grammatical or spelling errors, the author utilizes a very narrow range of sentence structures, beginning most sentences with 'he' or 'she'. For example:

"She pushed her food around on her plate. She needed to make some decisions like what the hell she was going to do now. She decided to go to a beauty salon and get her hair dyed. She would buy some cheap glasses at a dollar store, both plain ones and sunglasses. She couldn't hide her body so she would show it off, something she'd never done before."

That's five sentences in a row starting off the same way. It feels mechanical and robotic, as if someone is giving a recital or monologue.

I really like shifter stories and the premise of alien dragon shifters coming to earth to find their mate is a great one. The author could have had a lot of fun with them adjusting to earth's technology (like with the elevator), or struggling to understand idioms and figures of speech. It could have made for amusing banter between Davy and Jarel, but the opportunity was squandered. That 'zing!' moment where the two of them feel attracted to each other also never came through clearly enough, especially as Davy was initially not only attracted to Jarel but also Ranger (the casino manager). It was confusing how Jarel decided on her as his mate. Was physical attraction the only criteria? And he said he wanted the "right kind of female", but how did he know Davy was that "right kind" when she was practically a stranger?

That whole thing about Davy being in danger from her ex, Joe, who is a mobster, never rang true for me. The author failed to build up suspense and didn't convince me that Davy was in danger. Davy didn't act fearful or nervous, or even wary and cautious. She goes to the casino wanting to give them the information Joe has on them, but doesn't go straight to the casino owner, instead she decides to gamble! Somebody is out there trying to kill her, but she has no sense of urgency whatsoever! She takes everything in stride, doesn't seem to question much, doesn't even quibble at the thought of leaving her job, family and friends on Earth to move to Draconis with Jarel. Her reactions are not believable. There's precious little conflict in the story, making it very bland. Every problem gets resolved too quickly and easily.

I would say that this reads like a first draft, a good first draft but still a first draft. It needs a thorough rewrite to strengthen conflict, make the narration come alive, generate chemistry between Jarel and Davy. It could be a great book, but it has a ways to go.

This is a wonderful, entertaining book and I really enjoyed reading it. This book is about: a unforeseen natural disaster that occurred on another planet, causing the male draconis to turn their eyes towards earth in order to find mates. One of these males (Jarel) meets a female (Davinia aka Davy) in trouble and offers to help her, and from here the fun & games begin. What you will find in this book is: alien dragon shifters, a feisty human female, a vindictive ex-boyfriend, mob/mafia, drama, intrigue, suspense, adventure, action, mystery, attractions, mates, threats, protection, bonding, law enforcement, verbal banter, passion, love and a few steamy scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written, it keeps the reader’s attention. The characters are well developed with personalities and moods suited to the situations they find themselves in. I would recommend this book

She's running for her life from a dangerous ex and he's looking for a mate, a woman to call his own for his dragon and his human side. Can these two be together and overcome the obstacles they may face. Absolutely loved this book and would thoroughly recommend it hoping that others enjoy it as much as I did.

I don’t like to give spoilers on the books that I read. I believe the blurb on the back is enough for you to decide if you will read the book or not. If you choose to read, enjoy!

The characters have no depth, the story is a poorly constructed re-hash of many I have read before. I had to force myself to finish the story.
I am glad it was free as I don't like to waste money
