New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Tabitha Conall has been in love with love since the first play she wrote at the age of eight. That story involved three princes who fell in love with three princesses. With time, boyfriends and a Master’s degree in writing, her stories gained not just deeper conflict but also a lot more flesh. Now she describes not just the princes and princesses falling in love, but also what happens when they close the bedroom door. What could be more perfect?

Bowie, the lion and Eva the Jaguar had met in the Afghanistan conflict. Now, both were out and she was still in his mind. He called her and she lied to him when told him she had a date. Her career was first and she didn’t want to be involve in a relation because she had her mother suffering in mind. Bowie lion roared. He was going to go after what was his. This was a shifters hot love story with a thoughtful and considerate male. Bowie character was good been willing to offer what she needed despite of his male dominance. Liked the pace and development of this short story. Entertaining with a feeling of longing for more.

I read this for free. Thank the author for making it available to read for free. I enjoyed reading this book. I thought it was a good series starter. It had some steam factor to the sexual scenes. I was happy the hero and heroine worked it out and got their HEA.

********CAUTION POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD> PLEASE STOP NOW IF YOU DON"T WANT READ ANY SPOILERS>THANKS**********

Book basically appears to be starting the series. It is a short read. It starts with use being told from hero's memory how the H/h met and his military bodies. Appears he got very close to heroine while she was with them in military mission but she came back to the states. She works for FBI and is very ambitions. We learn about her own childhood and how it warped her believe that having family would negatively affect her career. So she is willing to walk away from her mate without a backwards look.

Hero wants claim heroine. He makes effort call her but she tells him she is in a date. He gets upset and goes after her. Thankfully his friend is there to keep him level headed. She turns him down. This really makes hero sad and he wants to keep pushing heroine, but is convinced by his friend to go out for drink with him instead. Heroine is still determined to keep her career first. She also decides to go for drink to help her relax from stressful day.

Things take turning point here because they are both in same bar and hero is not alone!!! Heroine gets upset and does something about it. Again, thankfully hero's friend is there to help them both be level headed. Hero finally convinces heroine to give him a chance. However, this is a series and ends with series cliffhanger that starts the next hero's love

I really like hero. He was not afraid to go after his mate. I understood where heroine was coming from, because of her background, but did not like how she was willing to let it go or wait until she is ready before pursuing hero. She even says that it sounds cold. I gave it a four because I liked hero and would continue series. I just did not like heroine or her reasoning. It is safe read. It is quick read. More 0.5 prequel than whole book. It was missing some depth and everything was like in a day, rest was just from being told or character's telling use from internal thoughts. Both experienced to know what they like in bed, but we only get really one steamy love scene in this short read.

A very quick story, great for passing the time. It is mostly a set up for the series, introducing the characters and what the next book will be about. Nothing surprising or unique here, but not a bad read.

    What a great book!

These shifters are Army Rangers on terminal leave. Bowie Garrison- alpha lion shifter. Eva Ross- jaguar shifter, Tiger Kane-bear shifter. The men are sexy, hot alphas and Eva is a sexy , independent woman who is an FBI agent.

Bowie can't stop thinking about Eva and calls her only to have her tell him she has a date and hangs up on him. Bowie's lion doesn't take to this well but Eva wants nothing to get in the way of her career and chooses to ignore her destiny. He confronts Eva and sparks fly and she walks away.

Will Bowie be able to contain his lion? Will Eva fight fate? What part will Tiger play in this? All swill be answered when you read the book!

If you love shifters, hot alpha men and a strong independent woman you don't want to miss this story!!

Thank you Tabitha Conall for another great shift book!!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

I would actually give this 4.5 stars if that option were available.

This is a really good short story that had me hooked immediately. While many short stories often do not have very good character development, due to the short length of the book, I didn't feel that way at all with "A Minor Shift." You really begin to actually care about the characters and hope they continue on with their "Happily Ever After." I'm looking forward to the next book in this series to come out; though this is a standalone story, so no cliffhangers or multiple books to buy if you do not choose to.

    ***Very Minor Spoilers***
You have a female main character, Eva, who wanted it all - the career, family, marriage, etc - but is afraid that is not even remotely possible, because of things she seen while growing up. She chooses her career... until the male lead, Bowie, convinces her that she won't have to choose and he will do whatever it takes to help her become successful and have the family she always dreamed of. I simply adored both characters; both were strong and independant people.

I have to admit though, my favorite part of the story was when they shifted into their animal forms (he is a lion shifter, while she is a black jaguar) together towards the end. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves shapeshifting romances.

First things first, I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Bowie knows Eva is his mate. But, Eva doesn't know that yet. She is moving her way up in the FBI and she doesn't want anything and that includes a mate or romance of any kind to take her career away. She doesn't want to be like her mother. Bowie back from Afghanistan he wants to be with Eva. He does call her up and asks for a date. She lies and says she has a date. Bowie loses it and he has to find out who....

This is a quick read. But a good one.To find out if Bowie can convince Eva of what they are pick it up and take a chance.

Eva is back from Afghanistan and working hard to get ahead in the FBI. Bowie and his 3 Ranger friends are also back but all Bowie can think about is dating/mating Eva.When Eva tells him he goes ballistic.
These characters just jump off the pages and make me want to read everything I can from this author.\

4.0 out of 5 stars Short hot shifter read :)
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 2, 2015
A short hot shifter romance that will keep you wanting more and definitely gears you up to want to know more about what will happen in the series as a whole, just wanted it to be a little bit longer. Loving the cover, its showing you what a powerful man Bowie is to deal with.

So Bowie first met Eva when they were both stationed out in Afghanistan and fell for her hard. He held back from starting something out there but now he is back State side his first thoughts are of her. She is all he can think about but he still needs to gear himself up to call her to ask out on a date and when he does he doesn’t get the response that he was hoping for.

Eva has her sights set of progressing within the FBI and doesn’t need any distractions; especially not a hot, muscled, lion shifter that she can’t seem to get out of her mind. From the moment she first met him she knew he would be a big distraction. She just knows that he wouldn’t be a one time thing or just be happy with friends with benefits, with the way he looked at her and made her feel she knows he would be wanting a lot more. So when she gets a call from him saying he is back State side and wants to meet up for a drink she does the only thing she can think of, say she already has a date. Little does she know that saying that will wake up his lion full force, to the point where he will do anything to show her who she really needs to be with.

I thought it was very funny that neither of them was aware that the other was their mate. They had all the signs but they just couldn’t see it. Even when they both got jealous enough to want to rip the arms off whoever was too close to what their beasts considered theirs. The back and forth between them is great and you will get some very funny, and then hot, scenes between them.

The underlining storyline is about Kane’s childhood when he lived in a cult. This is the starting off point for the series and it gets you thinking about what these characters can get themselves into. Going to be a fun journey they go on, lets see what they can get up to. Definitely want to check out other books by the author now.
