Description

La câblerie (Kaapeli) est une ancienne usine ayant fabriqué des câbles téléphoniques et électriques jusque dans les années 80. L'entreprise Nokia en est issue.

Kaapeli est devenu un complexe culturel et artistique, avec des musées, des ateliers d'artistes, des salles de spectacles, des écoles d'art, des théâtres, des studios, des galeries d'art,..

Le centre culturel français, situé autrefois près de l'Esplanade, s'y est installé, Des considérations de prix de location des locaux ont joué dans ce choix de déménagement.
