Layla Demay was born in Paris in 1971. She received a Master’smaster's degree in French literature from La [[University of Paris|Sorbonne]] University in Paris, as well as a Master’smaster's degree in Journalism and Communication from Institut Français de Presse in Paris.<ref name="HP" />

She started her career in France as a journalist and producer for CAPA French TV Press Agency, before joining the [[TF1]] newsroom.{{fact|date=February 2024}}
