slang Generally pleasing to look at from afar, but unattractive up close. A reference to the painting style of Claude Monet, popularized by the 1995 film Clueless. She's definitely a monet. She looks good in a group of girls, but up close you can see all those layers of makeup and fake tan, and she just looks gross.
