1. verb, slang To write angry messages online, especially those targeted toward someone, as on a forum or message board. The administrators are going to suspend your account if you keep flaming the message board. Yeah, well, if you don't want to make enemies on the forum, don't flame people! I don't trust that guy. Sometimes, he's perfectly nice, but other times, he goes on a rampage and flames people.
2. noun, slang Such messages. The administrators are going to suspend your account if they see all these flames from you on the message board. Yikes, what set those two off? There's a bunch of flames on the forum this morning. I don't know why that user hates me all of a sudden, but I'm getting a ton of flames from him.
3. noun One's romantic partner. How am I supposed to forget about my old flame if I keep seeing her around town? Yeah, Ben is his old flame—they dated last summer. I don't want to go that party, not if my old flame is going to be there!

Of a homosexual man, very flamboyant. Potentially offensive. I respect James for being so flaming—that's just who he is. Yeah, I am flaming. I'm also very happy with my life, so what's the problem?
