Happy New Year! Although I’m a bit late compared to last year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the highlights of the past twelve months. This is a collection of questions inspired by various ask games x x. If anyone feels like doing this too, totally go for it!

Movies watched for the first time last year? (something funky is going on with the numbering, but they’re in order, beginning with my favourite)
The Changeover - I’m absolutely obsessed with it! It’s has all my favourite things! It has a huge psychological element along with magic and witches, strong and complicated familial bonds and familiar faces, including Erana James and Nicholas Galitzine. Can’t recommend it enough.
Wicked - It was so good! Watched it twice in the cinema and cried my eyes out. Absolutely exceeded my expectations for a movie version of one of my favourite musicals (see my url xD). Wonderful all around. A perfect adaptation!
Hex (2018) - Dark as hell but I loved it. Still not sure what actually went on, but as a lover of psychological thrillers (and magic!) I love seeing new things and making new discoveries each time I watched. Also the romance element was heartbreaking but damn, he was so in love with her!
It’s All True - a visual album - Not technically a movie, but it felt like one! I got so much from it and it’s left very open to interpretation. Spoke to me on a deep level. Definitely recommend (for fellow sapphic peeps especially)!
I Saw the TV Glow - balled my eyes out through the whole thing. Incredible movie. The visual storytelling!!
(me during the entire movie)
Shout out to Challengers. I really enjoyed it!
TV shows of the year?
The Wilds! It was truly on another level compared to anything I’ve seen before. The performances, writing, visual storytelling, and character depth and dynamics blew me away. It’s the best show I’ve ever watched, hands down. Nothing has gripped me like this since childhood, and I’ve spent the rest of the year trying to find similar shows, but nothing comes even close for me. The show crafted eight characters that skyrocketed into my top 20 of all time, and I’m still amazed by that. The way they care for each other makes me want to scream! I love them so much that I don’t know what to do with myself. Since I discovered it in February, I’ve been rewatching it, and I can’t go a day without thinking about it. I will definitely treasure this show and its characters for years to come. As you can probably tell, I’m very normal about this show.
TV Show released last year?
Agatha All Along -It was so much fun! Queer witches and musical numbers—what more could anyone ask for? I’m not really into the MCU, at least not the Avengers, but I’ve always loved superheroes, and this is the first superhero thing that has excited me since the X-Men movies. I adore how queer it was, and goodness, the emotions it brought out in me. Lilia’s episode was one of the best TV episodes I’ve ever seen. Her ep was so clever, unique, and heartbreaking!
Most memorable episode of a show last year?
1x08 Day Sixteen from The Wilds - Holy crap. I’m never gonna recover from it. It hurt because it hit very close to home, but also healed me in many ways. Freaking devastating, but a seriously incredible episode in every way.
