This exclusive collaboration includes four limited-edition takes on the ASICS Tiger™ GEL-LYTE® III running shoe. Each style is inspired by classic dress shoes like bucks and oxfords, and the collection is available on September 30th at jcrew.com and packershoes.com and in Packer stores and select J.Crew stores, with early access at the Liquor Store in New York, in two drops, on September 28th and 29th (see details below).
The rich burgundy color known as oxblood has been a staple for men’s dress shoes since the mid-19th century, most famously with cordovan leather made from horsehide (which originated in Córdoba, Spain).

Initially made with suede buckskin and red rubber soles, white bucks were worn for summer sports in the early 20th century and came to define clean-cut collegiate style thereafter.

An alternative to white or “dirty” tan-colored bucks, blue suede shoes were popular enough in the ’50s to inspire an iconic rockabilly song.

This has been a favorite fabrication for tasseled loafers, a style that debuted in the 1950s, after an award-winning Hollywood actor asked shoemakers to remake a European shoe with fringed tassels on the laces.

ABOUT PACKER SHOES: Founded by a pair of brothers in 1907, the original Packer Shoes store was a cornerstone of Yonkers, New York. For more than 90 years, this family-run shop supplied generations of customers with dress shoes, work boots and sneakers.
In 2004, Michael Packer, a grandson of one of the founders, put a new spin on the family business: He opened a boutique sneaker shop in Teaneck, New Jersey. The new store quickly became a globally recognized sneaker destination, drawing fans from around the world to Teaneck and a second location in Jersey City.

NEW ERA® CAPS: Inspired by the classic materials in the 1907 Collection, New Era created four exclusive hats in old-school menswear fabrics. A family-owned company that has been making men’s hats since 1920, New Era makes all the caps Major League Baseball players wear on the field.
