With a backdrop of silent poetry, whether conveyed through the written word or moving image, presents explorations of his queer-trans identity in interconnection with his Vietnamese familial roots.
Binding documentation and storytelling across mediums, his work aims to look with a softened gaze, revealing universal themes woven together of vulnerability, grief, longing, gentleness, hope, and resilience – collectively revealing themselves in more subtle or conscious ways.
As a Southeast Asian trans person, Trâm Anh wishes to continue in creating more projects that reflect on the intricate politics of gender and culture – as well as meditate on themes of tenderness and what is left of memory.
