This is a Mostly good graphic but as has been pointed out in the notes, Samaritans are not Jewish but a separate religion and culture. It’s misleading and not helpful to present Samaritans as “oppressed Palestinian Jews.” There *were* actual Jews in Palestine before the establishment of the state of Israel. They were coined “old Yishuv” Jews, though not all of them were MENA, and while it’s convenient to say Jews, Muslims, Xtians, and Druze people all lived harmoniously before the establishment of the state of Israel, it’s not completely true or helpful to frame it as such. This does not excuse settler colonialism in any way, it’s just not really historical reality. Further, regardless of the backgrounds of Old Yishuv Jews, they were absorbed into Israeli society as beneficiaries of an Israeli Jewish identity over their Palestinian neighbors who were not Jewish.
