🏺 — “you’ve never been more real,” he reassured. the conviction in silas’ voice, his gaze—the clear, gentle way he spoke. his hands cup either side of her face… thumbs trailing gently along her jaw. “amara. my dear, beautiful amara. i see you.”
his words cleared the storm in her mind, as if the rough, foamy sea were to calm down and become smooth. amara visibly relaxed, the tension receding from her muscles as her brown eyes rested on silas’ green ones. “thank you,” she whispered, the corners of her lips pulling upwards into a loving smile.

♊ — “yes.” a curt, distracted response. he was idly eyeing the displays before finishing his approach toward the counter. “i’d like your entire stock of verbena, por favor.” his eyes finally, fully, meet hers with an empty smile.
it was only around this time he noticed the chill in the air. she wasn’t being unsubtle, but he felt the prickle of suspicion hovering between them. his head cocked… just slightly, sizing her up in the his uncharacteristic silence.
of course, diana knew about verbena, also known as vervain or verveine. and she also knew that this plant was more than a simple addition to a bouquet of flowers, it could ward off vampires. was that what he wanted? her eyebrows pulled slightly together before she explained, “i think we have two or three bundles at the moment. unfortunately, we are not a garden center if you are looking for something to plant?”
diana walked around the counter before she went purposefully to the area where the verbena was kept. “i assume you don’t want a bouquet made from it?” she assumed that was unlikely. after all, he wanted to have their entire stock. his purchase order was unusual but he was also an unusual person. not human, that’s for sure. || @humanitycease
“We are incredibly grateful to have found her. Though we did not know what was missing from our lives, it certainly seems more complete now that she is with us.” But it didn’t mean leaving Diana behind. There was no choice to be made, ultimatum to be had. He looked around the park they’d agreed to meet in, with the empty swings, besides the two of them. In an attempt to make Diana more comfortable, he too had decided to take a seat on the hanging apparatus, though he had very little experience sitting on a swing. He wanted to put her at ease - this was meant to be a casual meeting of two allied parties, not a tense exchange. He looked back at her, and attempted to offer her a cordial smile. “Something tells me that as happy as you are for her, you have concerns. If there is anything I can do to assuage them, I would be happy to.”
"it’s fascinating that she always missed and longed for all of you even though she didn’t even know you all. expect finn.“ her oldest younger brother. she always held fond memories of him which is why diana also knew his name whereas it has taken some time to learn the others.
diana didn’t expect that elijah would actually sit on one of the swings. it looked almost grotesque to see his elegant and expensive appearance on a not-so-new swing in a playground. diana looked at him for a while and took the image in. he still seemed intimidating, but that was probably because he radiated a natural authority. at the same time, however, he did not look like the bloodthirsty monster of a species she had always been warned about.
”freya is a strong personality and unconditionally loyal. a trait that is both a strength and a weakness when someone is willing to take advantage of her love and loyalty.“ diana looked away and stared briefly at her feet before she added: ”i have my doubts about whether you are treating her well.“ something that wasn’t necessarily directed at elijah, she felt he was more considerate, but the others? klaus, who had a particularly bad reputation? would they pay attention to her or take advantage of her? || @noblemonstreux
Katherine was mid chip when Nadia started asking questions. She couldn’t help the offense at the options she provided.
“Ok, first of all.” She spoke with her mouth full, but paused to swallow.
“Rude, second, a FRIEND of mine made it for me. I melted down an old necklace to repurpose it into a daylight necklace….. or bracelet depending on the outfit.”
“Just because I’m perfectly capable of DOING all of those things doesn’t mean its my ONLY available course of action. Thanks. Besides you cant steal daylight jewelry it doesn’t work that way.”
"no, that wasn’t what i meant,“ nadia stated, her brows furrowed as she stared at the bracelet that was dangling on her mother’s wrist and ignoring the fact that she’s munching on something she used to consider toxic.
”i mean how did you first manage to get your hands on daylight jewelry? most vampires don’t have it.“ which is a fact. nadia had her ring because she was still connected to the travelers. if that hadn’t been the case, she would have needed to find a witch who was aware of the correct spell.
”and of course it’s your only available or at least most used course of action. you aren’t a particularly nice person, katherine.“ it’s hard to imagine she had friends. and by friends, she meant friends who wanted to be friends with her.
then, a shrug followed because of her mother’s words. ”never tried to steal daylight jewelry, so i don’t know if it works or not.“ || @malka-lisitsa
something about this man was off. he wasn’t radiating energy, he seemed to suck it in. which … shouldn’t be possible. diana watched him surreptitiously, even if her assessment did not become narrower. usually she had a very fine sense of magic and its vibrations around her, but with him it was different.
"are you looking for something in particular?“ diana asked friendly, after all, they were in the flower shop she was working in and she would treat him as an ordinary customer.
"i can’t control myself.“ amara whispered, horror swinging at her tone at the realization that she’ll never be the same again. that she can’t shake off the hell she endured the past two thousand years. ”this is not the real me.“
Ah, she knew Tristan. Aurora wondered how her brother would feel about the fact that he was known to this woman whereas Aurora was not. Usually the Strix kept them both well concealed. Perhaps this woman had the pleasure of meeting Tristan. If she was a powerful witch, that wouldn’t be surprising; Tristan did like to collect them.
“Being a relation of a relation can be meaningless or meaningful. Depends on the relation. Yours seem to be quite important. Your relations grant you access to certain power. Most would consider that a good thing. Are you not one of them?”
"no, i’m not“, diana stated bluntly, not even appearing as if she had to consider her answer first. ”even if i do not know what relations you are referring to: my origin or my connection with certain people.“
diana deliberately didn’t mention any names, even though she believed that aurora knew very well that she was related to the people who called themselves original vampires. were her words aimed at them or at dahlia? || @ladamedemartel
