Rate of Spread
R
0
(r naught) is the reproductive rate or rate of spread of a virus. The number inputted here is the average number of total people any one patient infects over the period of time they are contagious. This determines how quickly the virus spreads.
Contagious Start
The start of the contagious period happens after the incubation period. The contagious start day is the number of days after a person is initially infected that they become contagious and can spread it to other members of the population.
Contagious End
This is the number of days after a person is initially infected that they stop being contagious and are no longer able to spread the disease to other members of the population.
Vaccination Rate
This is the percentage of the living population that gets vaccinated (or gains immunity to the disease) on the "vaccination day".
Vaccination Day
This is the number of days after the start of the simulation that the specified percentage of the population gets vaccinated (or gains immunity to the disease).
Immunity Length
This is the ammount of time after a person has either received a vaccination or contracted the disease that they are able to be reinfected with the disease. If you do not want people to be able to be reinfected, leave this field blank.
Fatality Rate
Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is the percentage of the population that contracts the virus that will die.
