See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

I draw and write for my world called #Tetra, and work as a concept artist at Primal Game Studio. I did a lot of freelancing as an illustrator, and I like doing #animation for fun. I picked this username when I was ~13, and later decided to keep it for the irony. HU/EN

Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree just launched 🎉

I’ve been working on the game for the past few years as a part of Primal Game Studio! It was a fascinating, positive experience for me; the most complex game I’ve ever contributed to; and I learned a lot. I’m thankful that I got to work on it. I’m going to play it too, obviously x)

It’s on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 at the moment!

Pegasus about to vaporize Griffin (2018)

Pegasus is the only spirit who is more dangerous in his human form than in his own. Spirits can’t physically die, so he does not hold back when Griffin pisses him off.

Pegasus could basically kill anything in 1 hit, which is unprecedented, and doesn’t really check out either. Very few spirits can do things no other spirit can explain or replicate; this happens when one gains some specific insight into reality’s nature. Most spirits don’t develop any ability like this, largely because most of them are not nearly as obsessed with anything.

Tetra Pegasus Griffin I subjected bsky to words like “tryhard” and “1-tap” and I will spare tumblr from that or at least anyone not reading tags anyway I again just retouched an old sketch bc I thought it deserves it

Left side: An unfinished, digitally drawn reference sheet of Phoenix. There are multiple forms depicted, a portrait is at the top right, and a size comparison with Griffin's human form on the left. The color scheme relies heavily on harsh color contrast, mainly red-blue, orange-green, and red-green. The bottom three side-view figures are the least developed parts for now. Right side: Various older references for the design. The clothing designs relate to the design of the phoenix. At the top right is a previous attempt at finding the colors of the design. Below it is a partial of Phoenix's previous reference sheet, which is from 2011.ALT

A work in progress...

I finally got around to updating Phoenix's visual design. The 2011 version I included is pretty dated. I still like how its tail burns my eyes to dust if I look at it for more than 5 seconds though. I want to keep that but also expand her eyeburning repertoire and maybe even give her 1 more human form design since she IS supposed to have a ton. I would include native form variants like... piebald and stuff; even for Griffin I thought a melanistic or golden form would be cute, but man is it a lot of work and not top priority either. Suffice it to say, they have more range than what I depict. We'll see how much energy I'll have - I'm on the fence about drawing her fave human form for the sheet because I have recent examples of it. I've been putting off updating her self-roasting turkey form because... well look at it

Anyway, now I can say "I have a tentacle cock monster mural on my acid trip chicken's ref sheet"

UPDATE

whiteraven90 Tetra Phoenix WIP I like working on it but I'm too excited and can't wait for it to be done and it's going to take a while

gaylaced asked:

Might be a dumb question, but who's that raven-ey gryphon creature that shows up in some of the size charts with Griffin and Pegasus? I don't think I've seen it anyplace else, even when I poked around on your portfolio site. Is there a story there?

Her name’s Zivatar (I recently switched up her name and preferred gender, in case anyone finds the old ref sheet)

She’s an example of a lesser known spirit (and it seems I’m doing a good job at keeping it that way lol). She has no human form, and her interest in interacting with people is lukewarm. From a glance, one would probably not be able to tell that she’s bonded to her human companion, Mahir (another name change).

She’s also an example of a gryphon spirit. There are several Griffin-like spirits, many alive and thriving. This is in contrast to Pegasus, who is not doing too great, and the rest of the Pegasus-like spirits have probably bit the dust before humankind even popped into existence. There’s just something about their temperament that has gryphons cope much better with permanent spirithood.

Unlike Griffin, Zivatar is solitary. On the rare occasion that people spot her, she’s either swimming in storm clouds, taunting lightning, relaxing at a remote shrine, or eating up fresh human remains that the aftermath of violent human conflicts offer. She’s not keen on coddling Mahir, or even giving him a ride - he has to make do with a horse -, but she’d dislike it if he perished prematurely. She’s mildly invested in finding out how his personal journeys will end.

She’s not a fan of Griffin, but she crosses paths with Pegasus relatively often, due to their shared interest in experiencing violently stormy weather. Neither of them like chit-chat, they typically hang out without saying anything to each other for hours on end.

Tetra Zivatar gryphon Griffin worldbuilding I can't believe I missed out on naming her Zivatar for so long it means black squall in Hungarian

EMOOSE

I included my corrections separately. I don’t note my thoughts down when I do these, but I did this time because some people seem interested.

P.S.1: When I decide how to position the corrections, I consider things like whether I started sketching at and/or focused mainly on e.g. the bust or some other part. Frequently, in the case of starting with the bust, the backside ends up being the less precise afterthought. Ideally I’d start with the whole silhouette of the figure so there’s no room for error in the details, but hey. Shit happens.

P.S.2: These 1-3 minute things are called croquis. I like them for being high risk, high reward - you could either end up feeling like “I should never pick up a pencil again” or “wow I nailed it on the first try” with nothing in-between.

Temporary reference sheet for Griffin. I always wanted a poster-style one, the kind that Pegasus has, with a condensed version, but at the same time, it’s not top priority. So here’s one with reused assets lol, I made them, I will bloody use them.

Aside from lions and golden eagle, the animals that left their mark on the design in some way: cassowary, emu, griffon vulture, tyrannosaurus rex, albertosaurus, carnotaurus, tigers, bulls, harpy eagle, white-bellied sea eagle, Philippine eagle, and Steller’s sea eagle.

Tetra Griffin reference sheet brown chicken wow wow how many griffin-related posts is one legally allowed to make per month i wonder
