Day 2 more like day of the cutest cosplayers ever!! I ended up meeting foraz-zora (the rly adorable Tsukki beside me) and her friend skywingknights totally by chance. The Haikyuu group was the most adorable (and super friendly) group of cosplayers I’ve ever met
I…..I…..I…..got picked to represent USA for the World Cosplay Summit Karaoke Grand Prix *A*
Oh my god I have to sing in front of people. NEED TO START MEMORIZING LYRICS AND GETTING COSTUME READY….BUT I DONT KNOW WHICH SONG IT IS YET…..*runs in circles and bounces off walls*
Preface:
Take two cosplayers that are fans of SNK with nothing to do for 45 minutes on opposite sides of the country and you get this. Read this like Eren and Jean are FB chatting.
Hello and welcome to the home of the thousand shameless selfies. Ahahahh…( ゜▽ ゜;)
After cutting off like a pound of hair from my new Kise wig (ok not that much but YEESH the thing was so LONG before!), I took a bunch of casual pictures. If you’re gonna cosplay a model, you gotta take all the selfies (@゜∇ ゜@)
And yes, the yellow popsicle did happen. (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
tgwltt-remade-deactivated201503 asked: yo this is the original pixiv source for that jean fanart where hes adjusting his straps: pixiv(.)net/member_illust(.)php?mode=medium&illust_id=35751309 btw though the artist says in their pixiv description they dont want their art reposted so please keep that in mind. also this is super helpful for sourcing art and i definitely recommend it: chrome(.)google(.)com/webstore/detail/image-search-options/kljmejbpilkadikecejccebmccagifhl?hl=en !! :)
Thank you so much!! In that case I can just take the picture out and have a link to the source :D
Attempted to copy this fanart after I saw another cosplayer do the Armin version. My straps aren’t quite the same though, and Melissa (who took the photo) didn’t know what angle to do :’)
1. I first started cosplaying in 2008.
2. My first cosplay was Misa Amane from Death Note (all from my closet). First non-closet cosplay was Temari from Naruto.
3. I do have pictures of it. Not online with the Misa one at this point though.
4. The simplest cosplay that I’ve made was Shippuden Temari. I’m not going to count the ones that were alterations/closet cosplays.
5. My hardest cosplay so far was Beaded! Oruha from Clover, simply because the sheer amount of details both big and small that I had to make.
6. If I include the birdcage, then Beaded! Oruha was also my biggest costume. Minus the birdcage, I’m pretty sure that White! Oruha had bigger wings. Both are obnoxiously large, however, and take up way more space in my room than I had planned >.>
7. I have an ever-wavering and unreasonable amount of cosplays planned.
8. Let’s see…the first dream cosplay I did was Fai, followed by Paradise Kiss and kind of Oruha. I still have lots of really big dreams though!
9. My current dream cosplay which is happening soon now is Bride of the Water God. After that will be something Sakizou, and I’m also going to count Vincent Valentine because I’ve loved him for aaaages.
10. Currently working (ish?) on Jean from Shingeki, and Dong Wang Kong from BotWG/Azel from Otoyomegatari for when I get back home.
11. YEP. And they will not be mentioned. Nor will pictures be shown. :D
12. PFT of course. Naruto, KH, RotG, Magi, Madoka, Free!, you name it. I love being in mainstream fandoms because there’s never a lack of wonderful things appearing :3
13. Animated.
14. Nope, not really.
15. Nope
16. Not yet.
17. NONE OF THE ABOVE (only partially a lie XD). I like a few parts of sewing (like rolling in fabric, and pinning pleats apparently). I like painting things. I like making….dumb crafty type things. And beading I love. Wig styling is okay, but I haven’t done that much of it. The rest is kind of obnoxious, haha. I mostly just love the outcome of having created it exactly how I want it, and then running around in it. The inbetween is a little eh for me *bricked*
18. BIRDCAGE. 9 feet tall, baby.
19. Being a wig newbie, the only hardish one I’ve had to style is Hakuryuu because WHAT THE HECK IS HIS HAIR DOING IN THE BACK?!
20. The hardest was White! Oruha because bodices FTW. The part that I took the longest on was my galaxy dress though. Pick ballgowns if you don’t like sewing and are feeling masochistic, kids.
21. Yep, I buy most of my simple ones (though nowadays that’s not many so I mostly make them haha) because it’s not worth the time to me to sew myself (for example) a Homura costume when I just want to wear it around for fun.
22. I have never commissioned either a wig or a prop.
23. FAI STAFF. I cried so long and hard over it, and it broke 3 times and I fixed it every time and now it’s perfect. And my Jack Frost staff, which I made from an actual stick (lol). All the staffs. Also my DtK skateboard is pretty cool. And I was a fan of my Temari fan (badum pshh), but it’s been sold now since she’s retired.
24. Elrond wig. I also like my Lily wig because it looks cute on me, and Sinbad because it’s Sinbad.
25. Still Fai. I love Fai to death and back.
26. Reika….EvilUkeSora/RoteMamba on DA…..and everyone on my FB friends list.
27. Reika. Also every single person who ever has/is going to/currently/ whatever competing in WCS.
28. Reika (we’re seeing a trend, folks). Shannon/Melissa/Mandi/Christine. Freaking December and her pile of talent and gorgeousness that I have to somehow try to match.
29. SHANNON FAI SENPAI. Mandi-Senpai. Once again Melissa and Christine. My Japanese friend, Tomoko-Senpai.
30. The buckets of fun that start sprouting everywhere when you put on cosplay. Being able to instantly meet friends around the world. Getting to see/touch/put on/and talk to(?) pretty things.
31. Seam ripping on 2 hours of sleep. Blood sacrifices. The fact that garages get cold in winter.
WHOO THAT’S IT, THAT WAS SURPRISINGLY THOROUGH.
Whoo, my cosplay cards were in the mailbox! Just in time for tomorrow’s photoshoot at the Manga Museum!!! I made four different designs with some of my favorite pictures ^.^ Might do more in the future depending on how fast I go through these. I really need to make one with one of Torre’s gorgeous Riza pictures.
コスプレの名刺を着きました!やった!
P.S. They look nicer in person, the camera decided to make the lighting/colors funky XD
Not quite related to cosplay, but still anime fun times XD Here are the highlights from the Kyoto International Anime and Manga Fair, which includes various forms of Kyuubei, lots of awesome booth cosplayers, Madoka and SNK cutouts (with a giant titan head), a Hetalia food van, and a robot model thing for the Ghost in the Shell movie.
