Despite the massive clear up effort across Scotland after Storm Éowyn, celebrations marking Burns night will still be going ahead.

Hundreds of thousands of homes are still without power – as communities in Scotland and Northern Ireland begin clearing up the damage left by Storm Éowyn.

We hear from our weather presenter Liam Dutton.

We spoke to Scotland’s First Minister John Swinney, first asking him for an update on the situation in Scotland. 

The rare red weather warnings were correct. 

Hundreds of schools are to be shut tomorrow and transport services halted as rare red warnings for gusts up to a 100-miles an hour have been issued for Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland.

It’s a week since the Santa Ana winds fanned devastating wildfires across Los Angeles – destroying thousands of homes and businesses.

For a fourth day, wildfires are raging around Los Angeles, where entire neighbourhoods have been devastated.
