Ventral abdominal hernia in a common myna (
Acridotheres tristis).
Anonymous 2011 "
Acridotheres tristis (bird)." IUCN/SSC Invasive Species Specialist Group (ISSG).
These are: House Sparrow (Passer domesticus), House Crow (Corvus splendens) Indian Peafowl (Pavo cristatus), Rock Pigeon (Columba livia) Laughing Dove (Streptopelia senegalensis), Rose-ringed Parakeet (Psittacula krameri), Asian Koel (Eudynamys scolopacea), Indian Pond Heron (Ardeola grayii), Common Myna (
Acridotheres tristis) and Dusky Crag-Martins.
In New Zealand, Stewart and Craig (1989) found that (likewise introduced) European blackbirds (Turdus merula, Turdidae) and Indian mynas (
Acridotheres tristis, Sturnidae) are the most efficient cross pollinators.

A fall resulting in a midline tear and true hernia also has been reported previously in a common myna (
Acridotheres tristis).
The most dominant species were house crow, Corvus splendens (n=2518), house sparrow, Passer domesticus (n=772), common myna,
Acridotheres tristis (n=327), black-crowned night heron, Nycticorax nycticorax (n=190) and jungle babbler, Turdoides striatus (n=186).
Confusion is introduced with the terms quyu and bage (literally, "eight songs"), both of which designate the myna bird (
Acridotheres tristis).(65) The general size of the cuckoo and myna are comparable, some species crested, both possessing human-like vocalization.(66) The myna is mostly terrestrial, whereas the cuckoo is arboreal; the majority of Chinese myna species reside in southern China, while the cuckoo ranges all over.(67) Unlike the case of the hoopoe, where bisyllabic vocalization played a role, the confusion of the cuckoo with the myna is at the textual level only.
Rapid genetic differentiation and founder effect in colonizing populations of common Mynas (
Acridotheres tristis).
They have been documented in domestic chickens, (7,26,27) 3 budgerigars (Melopsittacus undulatus), (11,28) a Java sparrow (Lonchura oryzivora), (29) a common mynah bird (
Acridotheres tristis), (1) a finch, (30) a burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia), (16) a canary (Serinus canarius), (31) and a scarlet macaw (Ara macao) (12) (Table 1).
Six nests of common myna
Acridotheres tristis were recorded at two sites out of five (Tables II, III; Fig.2 A); the preferred tree species for nesting included Acacia nilotica (n = 4) and Eucalyptus camaldulensis (n = 2).
house sparrow (Passer domesticus), common myna (
Acridotheres tristis), bank myna (
Acridotheres ginginianus), baya weaver (Ploceus philippinus), common quail (Coturnix coturnix), ringed dove (Streptopelia decaocto) and partridges (Francolinus spp.) and sell them in the local bird markets to earn their livelihoods.
