Julian Smart trained Candahar (Munjiz-Tohfa) was confidently piloted by Darren Williams to win the Pure Arabian Maiden Plate.

Candahar set the pace with Vit'al Fauquey in close attendance while Safqah was held back in a handy third position.

The Glass Factory, in Candahar Road, was chosen to give entrants a taste of what life could be like if they escape hearing Sir Alan Sugar telling them, "You're Fired".

The accused, from Candahar Lodge, South Belfast faces three charges - burglary of the Eurospar shop on Main Street in Portglenone, Co Antrim, in the early hours of Sunday morning, dangerous driving at various locations and failing to stop when asked to do so by police.

The march on Thursday along part of the Ormeau Road in South Belfast ended with a commemoration in Candahar Street where the garden was established two months ago.
