The dark longing for love on "The Devil's Sake" is gorgeously atmospheric and melancholy: "I'm trying to be innocent as a dove, but I'm smarter than a nestful of snakes." And while listening to her reworking of the Be Good Tanyas hit "Prettiest Birds" certainly ratcheted up an element of desperation in the lyrics, hearing it made me long for the sunny, upbeat original that is just as toe-tapping now as when it was released 10 years ago.

In "Superkid Saves the Day," the young superhero, often with the help of deep breathing techniques, helps an ant who forgot to be honest regain a good relationship with the rest of his hillmates; teaches her sister a lesson about rudeness; and shows a nestful of bluebirds how much better they feel if they think of a glass as half full instead of half empty.
