21 January 2011 - Canada-based specialty pharmaceutical company Labopharm Inc (TSE: DDS) announced yesterday that Health Canada's Therapeutic Products Directorate (TPD) has approved OLEPTRO (trazodone hydrochloride Extended Release Tablets), a novel once-daily formulation of the antidepressant trazodone, for the symptomatic relief of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) in adults.

Pharmaceutical company Labopharm Inc (TSX:DDS.to) said on Thursday that OLEPTRO (trazodone hydrochloride Extended Release Tablets) has been approved by Health Canada's Therapeutic Products Directorate (TPD).

Other medications that are 5-H[T.sub.1A] agonists with potential prosexual effects include buspirone (Buspar) and trazodone (Desyrel, Oleptro).

Drugs company Labopharm Inc (TSX:DDS.to) said on Friday that it has received a notice letter for the Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) submission to market 150 and 300 mg generic versions of OLEPTRO (trazodone hydrochloride extended-release 150 and 300 mg tablets) in the US.

3 February 2010 - Canadian specialty pharmaceutical company Labopharm Inc (TSE: DDS) said today that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved OLEPTRO (trazodone hydrochloride) Extended Release Tablets, a once-daily formulation of the antidepressant trazodone, for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults.

As a result the company will have additional cash resources and financial flexibility during the initial commercialisation phase for OLEPTRO, the company's novel once-daily formulation of the antidepressant trazodone, which will be launched in the US in the current quarter.
