Shawal 01, 1439, Jun 14, 2018, SPA -- The United Arab Emirates today announced that it has commenced emergency aid operations via air and sea relief bridges in Al-Hodeida province, Yemen.
A meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee will be held on Friday to review the news of moon sighting of the holy month of
Shawal and fix the date of Eid-ul-Fitr of 1,439 Hijri, reports BSS.
The Dubai Financial Market said holidays will start from the first day of
Shawal, including Sunday, when trading will remain shut.
The firefight occurred in the
Shawal valley of North Waziristan where the military has been battling Taliban and other insurgents since June last year.
The airstrikes were carried out in the far-flung
Shawal valley that sits on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Three missiles from the unmanned aircraft hit the camp in the
Shawal area of South Waziristan just after midday, two intelligence officials told Reuters.
"The panel will receive news and testimonies on the birth of the crescent moon of
Shawal, 1435 Hijri and the advent of Eid Al-Fitr", HIAC officials announced in a statement.
Another 11 militants were killed in a clash with police in the
Shawal area of Nad Ali district, he said.
If the first day of Eid falls on Thursday August 8th, 2013, the holiday shall end on Saturday, 3rd
Shawal 1434 AH corresponding to August 10th, 2013 as work will be resumed on Sunday, 4th
Shawal 1434 AH corresponding to August 11th, 2013.
It was the second missile attack in
Shawal district of the North Waziristan region, considered a bastion of the Taliban and al-Qaeda-linked militants.
Locals said the unmanned predators fired four missiles at a compound in the village of Darr-e-Nishtar in the
Shawal Valley, some 65km west of Miramshah, the regional headquarters.
