According to Flood Forecasting Division, Indus River was flowing with low floods at Kotri
barrage while it flows normal at Guddu and Sukkur
barrages.

He said water discharge capacity of Head Balloki has been increased due to its restoration and up-gradation and now this
barrage has the capacity to discharge 380,000 Cusecs of floodwater.
Consequently, the amount of water losses resulting from irrigation operations at Guddu
Barrage in Sindh has reached 28%, which they called 'not conceivable'.
Construction of the Johor River

The meeting decided to prepare a concept paper for channelizing the River Indus between Guddu and Sukkur
barrage for the forthcoming Joint Coordination Committee meeting to be held in being on December 20.
The chief minister said that the concept to channelization of River Indus between the two
barrages, Guddu and Sukkur was to reduce water losses, control water logging and salinity and protect the area from breaches.
