The idea for Mokes on Spokes came from Wren Wescoatt, who, after watching the movie "Quicksilver" about bicycle couriers in New York City, decided to start a bicycle courier service in Honolulu.
One of the company tenets is environmental friendliness - no polluting emissions - so Mokes only delivers from Kaimuki to the Honolulu International Airport.
Mokes' six employees handle 70 to 80 deliveries a day.
