'An Amish Murder' Is Heading To Lifetime

"An Amish Murder," starring Neve Campbell as a detective who grew up Amish, will premiere in January on Lifetime. The project, which was originally announced in 2011, could become a TV series, along the lines of fellow "Party of Five" alum Jennifer Love Hewitt and "The Client List."

In "An Amish Murder," Campbell plays Kate Burkholder, a detective who returns home and becomes the community's chief of police. A series of brutal murders rocks the town and brings up painful memories for Kate, whose dark secret could destroy her.

"An Amish Murder" is based on the book "Sworn to Silence" by Linda Castillo and alos stars Christian Campbell, Noam Jenkins and C. Thomas Howell.

"I've always admired Neve's work," Nancy Dubuc, president and general manager of Lifetime, said in December 2011. "She is a proven talent who will bring a high level of intensity and presence to this role and 'Sworn to Silence.'"
