Ivan Castiglione

Ivan Castiglione wrote and produced the theatrical adaptation of "Gomorrah", based on the worldwide famous novel by Roberto Saviano, in which he played Saviano himself. The role earned him the Golden Graal as best Italian Actor in a leading role in 2008.
In 2015 he is the first actor to work at the prestigious National Theatre of Scotland, in the play named "The driver's seat", directed by Laurie Sansom, where he managed to secure a co-lead role.
He's worked with nationally and internationally renown names, including Claudia Cardinale, Giorgio Albertazzi, Roberto Saviano, Ugo Pagliai, Nello Mascia, Gianfranco Funari, Beppe Ferrara, Caterina Guzzanti, Corrado Guzzanti, Stefano Reali, Pasquale Squitieri, Paola Gassman, Antonio Calenda, Aldo Nove, Luigi Di Berti, Daniele Luchetti, Nicolai Lilin, Ricky Tognazzi, Edoardo De Angelis, Alessandro D'alatri, Mario Martone.
Ivan is famous for his roles in nationally acclaimed plays, the likes of "Candido" in which he plays the protagonist; "Urfaust" where he plays Mefistofele opposite Ugo Pagliai, at the Genoa Theatre Rep; " The Glass Managerie" playing the role of Tom next to Claudia Cardinale. He was also directed by Nello Mascia in "Putiferio" and "Fuori l'autore" by Raffaele Viviani, and he was in the cast of "Quattro", a play that won the "Premio Scenario" Award in 2005. In 2010, once again he's in the cast of the play "Santos", based on yet another novel by writer Roberto Saviano.
He's also enjoying playing one of the leading roles in the theatrical version of "Siberian Education" by Nicolai Lilin, at the Torino Theatre Rep.
For 10 years he directs and act in the "Idroscalo 93" Pier Paolo Pasolini"In the 2019 he is amongst the the leads in Roberto Saviano e Mario Gelardi project named "La Paranza dei Bambini", "Sindaco del Rione Sanità " by Eduardo De Filippo. He also plays the role of Arturo Santaniello directed by Mario Martone and "Interiors" by Matthew Lenton.
He's featured for many years in TV series including "Un posto al sole", the prime time most famous Italian soap opera, "Eravamo solo Mille", "Carabinieri", "Centovetrine", "Il grande Caruso", "Sotto copertura" , "Non Dirlo Al mio capo 2", "Don Matteo 10", "I Bastardi di Pizzofalcone 2", "Rosy Abate 2". Italian TV has also seen him starring as co-protagonist with Raoul Bova in the film, "Ultimo 4" by Michele Soavi. In 2016 he played in "Boris Giuliano", directed by Ricky Tognazzi.
He is also one of the leads in the Dutch TV Series "La Famiglia", directed by Vincent Schuurman, for NPO1 and Netflix
He's starred in big screen films, such as "Guido che sfidò le Brigate Rosse", "Quelle piccole cose", "Il caso Siani", "Drosera", "Cercando Maria", "Notte tempo", "Perez." and "Milionari" di Alessandro Piva in concorso al Festival internazionale del cinema di Roma nel 2014. He features in " Anni felici", Deniele Luchetti.
Currently he's playing in theatre and directing in "Spacciatore " for the national theatre of Naples and "Plastilina" by Marta Buchaca.
