Mae Chapman, a New Orleans native and US Army Reservist, brings several years of Film / TV and Theater production experience to the table. Since 14 years old, Mae Chapman has been on stages delighting audience in dancing and her theatrical musical performances of "Rosa Parks", "The End of Perfect Death, Crowns, and multiple others. Throughout the years , Ms. Chapman has worked with producers and theatrical directors on stage and off stage developing experiences that later ventured her into working and networking with film industry professionals. While building a vital network in 2006, she produced the Louisiana Produces- Lafayette Film and Entertainment Meetup Group, a social incubator that is filled with producers, crew members, writers, and aspiring, working actors that she has helped and mentored. In pursuit of learning more of the industry, she was asked by BAMCasting to work as background casting assistant for, Ithaca Productions, "In the Electric Mist" featuring Tommy Lee Jones and John Goodman. After working several other projects, this experience opened doors for Mae Chapman. She later became a Louisiana Film Casting Director, and opened Chapman Casting. The business accomplishment made Louisiana history as being the first Film Casting Company in Louisiana owned by an African American female. Chapman Casting re-branded its company's name and is now known as, Mae Chapman Casting, LLC.
Noted for its integrity and professionalism, Mae Chapman Casting launched its debut project, "Mystery Diagnosis", which aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network in January 2010. Since then Mae Chapman and her company has cast multiple SAG / AFTRA/ and Independent projects, such as History Channel, "Way of the World", Upperline Entertainment, "1959" featuring Eric Roberts , international production, Pekin Express, "The Amazing Race", "He Watches Over Me" featuring Golden Brooks and Tommy Mikal Ford, "Dirt Road to Lafayette" featuring David O'Hara and various others. She gives credit to her mentors, renowned Hollywood Casting Directors Peter Wise ; Leah Daniels- Butler; and Christopher Gray.
Her various skills in theater and film has also allowed her to work as an on- set acting coach with celebrity actors, Terrance Howard and Jaqueline Fleming, in "The Ledge". Diversity in the industry has also allowed Mae Chapman to work as Film Production Assistant on The Life the House Built, a Gulf Coast Habitat for Humanity project produced by former President and First Lady Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter. Given inspiration, Mae Chapman along with Sonny John Louis opened their film production company, Gumbeaux Films, LLC. which is in soft production of its upcoming feature film. As a devoted talent mentor for aspiring professionals , she is also working with International Platinum R&B/Pop Artist, "New Cupid" as Film/TV Talent Coach/Mentor and Head Administrator of his Fitness program, "CuRobiks". Due to extensive networking, in 2014-2015, Mae Chapman's casting expertise has assisted "Nephew Tommy", An On-Air personality from Steve Harvey Morning Show and Cupid with professional dancers for the "Nephew Tommy Comedy Tour".
With her multi-tasking skills, Mae Chapman, Film Casting Director, Producer, Talent Coach, Mentor, Motivational Speaker, Community Organizer and Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Armed Forces continues to facilitate career development and expertise within the talent pool of Louisiana.
