Ryan Phillips was born on May 8th 1972. He was born to Ruby and Robert Phillips. Young Ryan
would love to read books and use his imagination when he spent most of his time alone. His mother got Ryan involved with movies at a young age. She took him to see movies like Rocky, ET and The Color Purple. Ryan was fascinated with the new world opened up to him. At age 16, he decided to take acting commercial classes and learn screenwriting on his own by reading Syd Field Screenwriting book. Ryan written a screenplay that was 175 pages at the time, but his mother found the script, saw the foul language in the script that was wasn't backed up to any computer at the time and she threw it in the trash. Since that time, he has written and directed a couple of short movies along with trying to pursue stand up comedy - but he knew the real experience was in Los Angeles. At 38 years old, Ryan 's marriage of 15 years wasn't working out - so he planned careful and decided to go to Los Angeles to make his dreams a reality. Ryan came to LA at the time with 4,000 dollars, on a one way greyhound bus ticket. He knew that wasn't going to get him far, so he got his guard card and started doing security work. He tried to go to LA Film school, but that didn't pan out with the expenses of the school, so he dropped out. Since being in LA, Ryan has only two television credits to his name - which is Code Black and Orville and that is through Central Casting.
