Lt. Rod Blake: Oh, hello. I'm Rod Blake, chief investigator for the Nevada state troopers. You know, the .30-30 has long been the favorite hunting rifle of the folks who originally settled the more remote regions of Nevada. This particular rifle belonged to a young backwoodsman who couldn't speak, so he let his rifle speak for him - even when there was death in what he tried to say. You'll hear about him in a story called, "The Sniper".
Featured review
This is another solid and highly watchable episode of State Patrol. The stories are almost always interesting and entertaining. Rod Cameron as the main character is excellent as usual.
I rated Mystery Sniper a 7. I would say 7 out of 10 is just an average rating for any episode from this fine TV series, with several episodes in this series worthy of an 8 or maybe even a 9 rating.
The setting of this series in Nevada, the locations chosen for the individual episodes, and the authentic no nonsense tone to the entire series takes us back to life in the 1950s in Nevada and gives us compelling stories and characters.
It is also one of the best TV shows for seeing cars and trucks from the 1950s.. It gives Highway Patrol and Perry Mason good competition in that department.
I have the complete DVD set of seasons 2 and 3. I would like to find a complete Season 1 DVD.
It's that good!
