Easy to see why Fincher and Pitt Dropped Out
Middling production values, poor writing, poor direction, middling acting talent all around. Its hard to believe that Disney spent so much money and time developing this and it turned out to be this bad.
If you are familiar with the book, or even the original Disney movie, you wont find any of that enjoyablity here. This is a mediocre mess from start to finish. Which Disney also felt as well seeing as they refused to release it on their streaming service and instead farmed it out to AMC.
I'm not sure what's going on in film school nowadays. The seem to be covering all the bases with accounting, special effects, production management. But there doesn't seem to be any art anymore. Nothing pops out from the rest, its all just mediocre.
