At first glance photography can seem both immensely complicated but also very easy. After all with modern cameras you literally can just point and shoot and 99% of the time get a good image. However it’s that extra 1% that will give you the truly great photographs and make you an accomplished photographer. It’s also that 1% that can seem complicated.
Today we are going to take a look at some of the most common beginner photography mistakes that many newcomers can make.
For this week’s challenge, Diane invited us to bring some surreal portraits to the forum. As expected, things went above and beyond. Several of our talented members delighted us with some twisted imagery. Visual metaphors in photography is used to convey visual representations of something, or to associate similarities. It can also be used to convey abstract emotions, or other visual stories.
The “Visual Metaphors” photo contest had varied images and the participants had come up with their own interpretation of the theme. Images submitted to the contest included varied genre like, still life, nature, landscape and abstract where some natural scenes were very beautifully captured as a visual metaphor, while others came up with stories they set to capture a visual metaphor.
With every week, we’re presented with more intricate and fancier words. The “Color Theory In Practice” photo contest had varied images and it was interesting to see the participants’ interpretation of the theme. Images submitted to the contest included varied genre like, still life, nature, landscape, architecture and abstract where contrasting complementary colors, analogous colours, etc., played a huge role. The creative thoughts and visual interpretations behind the photographs were interesting and clever and the images made use of stunning colors which was the theme of the contest.
