Destroyah is basically a creture created from The Oxegen Destroyer that killed off the first Godzilla. At the same time this is the death of Godzilla an the first appearence of Godzilla Junior.

Now for this, both Mothra and Biollante make a cameo appearance. This was also the first appearance of Fairy Mothra and Space Godzilla. For the origin of Space Godzilla is pretty unknown there are two theories:

First theory:
Mothra somehow had Godzilla cells got carried onto her as she flue into space, as the cells went into space an mutated as Space Godzilla.

Second theory
After Godzilla fought Biollante the Godzilla cells from Biollante flu and drifted into space.

Biollantes Origin is a bit complex in a way, a group of scientists had the bright idea to fuse a godzilla cell they had found with a plant cell thus creating Biollante. The story and this toho monster was the idea of a contest winner.

Yes even King Kong had become a Toho Monster after the success of King Kong (1933) directed by Merian C. Cooper
& Ernest B. Schoedsackas, he faced Godzilla for the first time which fought each other out.

FUN FACT: Originally it this film was suppose to be Frankenstein facing Godzilla but, was later scrapped and was replaced by King Kong (who was than left with Frankenstein abilities),for more Mar-key value.

Mothra one of Toho's other popular monsters had her own movie. But later appeared with Godzilla in her second movie appearance, Mothra VS Godzilla or in the US title... it's Godzilla vs The Thing. But, luckily she escaped the Godzilla series and had her own movie series, Rebirth of Mothra.
