Fans rate Messi's season average to bad

Asked by us to rate Leo Messi's campaign, MARCA.com users didn't pull any punches, largely labelling the Argentine's performances average to bad.

Most of the more than 146,000 responses to the question in our poll fell into the "average", "bad" and "very bad" categories.

Some 36.8% of respondents believe that the forward, who has been practically anonymous during Barcelona's nightmare last week and a half, has had an average season.

By contrast, 28.9% called his performances bad and 21.5% went as far as to deem them very bad, though this can surely only be by Messi's extremely high standards.

Only a small group defended Messi's form, with 9.9% rating his season as good and 2.9% branding it very good.
