Dollhouse and Miniaturist Gift Guide 2024

Whether you are shopping for yourself or a beloved miniaturist, explore some ideas below for mini gifts this holiday season! Mini gifts are sure to bring many smiles! I’ve separated this into various categories depending on the recipient’s interests and skills. If my husband is reading this, consider getting me anything from any category.

Dollhouse Gift Guide: For The Interior Designer

You may already have a house, but it needs furnishing! Dollhouse furniture shopping is immensely more fun than regular furniture shopping. You can experiment with different styles you typically would avoid in your own home. So bring on the colors…or the neutrals! These items below are all in 1:12 scale.

Acrylic Coffee Table - Simple, yet cute. Would be perfect to hold a tray or books, too.

Bistro Chairs (4 colors) - A classic chair in a bright color. I used these very chairs in my Ikea dollhouse kitchen.

Dining Bench - I love the traditional feel of this bench for a dining room accent or use it in an entryway area

Velvet Sofa - This couch comes in a couple of colors. Perfect if you are not quite ready to DIY your own!

Striped Armchair - Another good neutral side chair perfect for virtually any living room or bedroom

Kid’s Bed - A classic bed shape, but dress it up with some fun pillows to make it your own

Wooden Bed - Clean lines and a sturdy base make this full size bed an easy pick

Wooden Dresser - I love taking unfinished dollhouse furniture and adding my own spin

Wood Console - A piece with so much potential after a coat of paint or stain

Dollhouse Gift Guide: For The Decorator

If you have some good basics, or maybe you DIYed your own furniture, it’s time to spruce up the house with the tiniest accessories and decor! These mini items are too cute to pass up, and at affordable prices, you can grab a couple for stocking stuffers or to go alongside another item.

Kitchen Baking Accessories - I love the colorful mixer and classic utensils in this set

White Dinnerware - Includes 34 pieces of white dinnerware in all shapes and sizes

Gold Chandelier - Even if you don’t wire up this chandelier, it is still a stunning piece to add to any room

Classic Fireplace - I love the idea of having a removeable fireplace for easy rearranging!

Tall House Plant - Any house plant, especially a tall one, goes a long way to bringing some realism to miniatures

Floral Books - Making books is not hard but it is tedious. These floral books are a cute shortcut solution!

Easel and Artwork - Let your mini have an artistic flair too

Black and White Rug - Another twist on a classic. This woven rug will work in many design styles and rooms

Kitchen Scale and Blender - A great colorful set again - the blender is especially adorable!

Flowers with Vases - With a variety of 5 vases in this set, you’ll have enough for every room

Dollhouse Gift Guide: For The Builder

If you or someone you know is just getting into dollhouse building, whether for furniture or houses, some basic tools will go along way! These are some of my most reached-for tools and materials and will be reused time and time again.

Miter Shears - These are great for cutting small wood pieces without getting out a real saw, and the extra angle options are invaluable

Flooring Veneer - Wood veneer is my favorite way to create a dollhouse floor. Check out this tutorial here for some ideas.

Coffee Stirrers - Coffee stirrers can also be made into a simple wood floor, furniture legs, or wainscotting. So versatile!

Wood French Doors - These double doors add elegance and realism to your house. Super simple to stain or paint!

Coping Saw - This coping saw is also super handy to have around for larger cuts of wood

Tacky Glue - This is my number one glue for paper, wood, fabric, and more. Always have plenty on hand!

Dollhouse Gift Guide: For The Collector

If you just can’t get enough dollhouses or you are looking for your next build, check out these ideas. Whether beginner, amateur, or pro, there are so many great house options out there!

Greenhouse Booknook - A tiny bookcase-worthy build with everything included to get creating

Loft House Kit - If you’ve mastered 1 or 2 kits so far, this one is a little larger and longer project if you are up for the challenge

Brentwood Dollhouse - I’ve had my eye on this dollhouse from Miniatures.com because I love the simple facade that can go modern or traditional!

Barndominium Dollhouse - This would be a great retail store build in my opinion. The Barndominium by Studio 228 Minis is super versatile for home or store

Ikea Flisat Dollhouse - Ah, my favorite classic beginner house. Kid-friendly, sturdy, and easy to upgrade. See how I built my own Flisat here.

Dollhouse Gift Guide: For The DIYer

The DIYer - this is me 100%. All of these tools are upgrades or nice-to-haves for creating furniture or dollhouses. If you’re committed to making it mini, then it’s time to upgrade your workshop

Dremel Scroll Saw - This small saw fits easily on a folding table in your garage and is powerful enough for most basswood cuts

Mini Miter Saw - If the coping saw and miter box is getting old, time to treat yourself to an electric chop saw!

Cricut - Many crafters and DIYers already have a Cricut, but if you don’t already have one, there are a ton of ways to use it for your mini projects and many other everyday crafts

Magnetic Glueing Jig - I have used Lego bricks to make my own gluing jigs before, but this magnetic version is a game-changer for keeping all your pieces together while the glue dries

Dollhouse Turn Table (Lazy Susan) - Make quick work of turning your dollhouse around this an extra large lazy Susan

Cordless Glue Gun - I used a basic corded glue gun for years before upgrading to this one. I love the small glue tip for more precise applications and the stand is rather sturdy too!

Handheld Dremel - Clean up rough edges and drill minuscule holes easily with a Dremel tool and accessories

Glowforge Wood Laser Cutter - A laser cutter is the ultimate upgrade. It does require some personal education to use it and making sure you are filtering out harmful fumes from your work area. It’s definitely worth the splurge and Glowforge comes highly recommended by many miniaturists!

Happy Shopping, friends!
