Based on the “Neapolitan Novels” by Italian author Elena Ferrante, the series follows the friendship of Elena and Lila, two elementary school girls growing up in post-war Napoli. As the girls blossom into womanhood, they both find themselves at odds with their patriarchal and even violent surroundings, whether it be the rich mobsters that run the town, the general struggles of class against class, or even within their own families. By the time we get to the fourth and final season premiere, Elena, now a famous writer, (now played by Alba Rohrwacher, who has been serving as narrator) has left her husband and children for her affair partner Nino Sarratore (Fabrizio Gifuni). The couple is seen laughing and chasing each other around their apartment in the nude but, as we come to find out, things are far from perfect between them. What is perfect? Alba's amazing body! This marks the first time we’ve seen the character in the buff and Alba’s raviolis and rump roast do not disappoint. Thank goodness we were treated to some friendly unwrapped flesh before the series wrapped up for good!
