Staff Picks: Sword and SorceryStaff Picks: Sword and Sorcery

Our Staff Picks column takes you back to a time when video stores reigned supreme and the "Staff Picks" section was the place to find out what films were worthy of one's time. Of course, our version of Staff Picks has a decidedly skintillating angle, as we suss out which films from a particular subgenre are the best to find great nudity. This week let's cover one of the absolute coolest genres in moviemaking: Sword and Sorcery.

Sword and Sorcery refers to a subgenre of fantasy that focuses on heroes on a violent mission. Their often gritty adventures are accentuated by their sword-wielding skills and these films have elements of magic, romance, and supernatural creatures. These epic films have a shocking amount of nudity, so I wanted to recommend our favorite Sword and Sorcery films which feature a heroic amount of skin.

Conan the Barbarian

A common element of Sword and Sorcery films is to have the hero be a bit of a barbarian. Enter Conan the Barbarian, a titular barbarian. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays Cona who is sold into slavery. When he grows into a gladiator he fights for his freedom and gets revenge on the sorcerer who killed his people. While he searches for that evil man, he finds himself plenty of bosoms along the way.

Leslie Foldvary wears a thong as she does a topless snake dance. Arnolds gets busy with a busty witch played by Cassandra Gava. Those breasts can bewitch any barbarian! Sandahl Bergman provides a glowing look at her globes in a tender scene with Arnold.

Dragonslayer

If you are a fan of fantasy, then you know how lauded 1981's Dragonslayer is. The Oscar-nominated film is a favorite among fantasy lovers such as Guillermo Del Toro and George R.R. Martin. Peter MacNicol plays a wizard's apprentice who must slay a dragon eating a kingdom's virgins. No! Not the virgins! He runs in to save the day, but not without going for a naked swim with Caitlin Clarke. No, not the basketball player.

How is Caitlin still alive? She disguises herself as a boy to evade the dragon's watchful eye, but when she is in the water she has a very womanly figure.

Deathstalker

This 1983 film is a B movie, but fans of B movies know that the B stands for breasts. We get lots of breasts in this film! Barbi Benton bares boobage that could make kingdoms bend to their knees. Speaking of the kingdom, let's talk about the plot. The plot follows a hero sent on a mission to gather three mystical artifacts that have the power of all creation when put together. He enters a tournament to death where the winner will inherit the kingdom and thus the artifacts.

Lana Clarkson is also a tough cookie who knows how to fight. Rick Hill is the hero, but he meets a formidable fighter in Lana who fights in an open cape with nothing underneath. I can see why this film spawned several sequels: everyone wants to stalk her domes!
