Spencer Creaghan
Spencer Creaghan is a prolific multi-award-winning composer for film, television, and video games.
A sensational rising talent, Spencer is known for his evocative and adventurous score to the global hit SYFY series SURREALESTATE, starring Sarah Levy (Schitt’s Creek) and Tim Rozon (Wynona Earp)
His epic surrealist co-score for the Sci-Fi short SPACEMAN starring JK Simmons (Whiplash) & Mena Massoud (Aladdin 2019), earned him a HOLLYWOOD MUSIC IN MEDIA award for Best Short Film Score in 2024
Spencer’s strikingly unique thriller score for MOTHERLY earned him a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Original Score. He later scored debut features: Haya Waseem’s QUICKENING and M. H. Murray's I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2021 and 2023 respectively.
Other credits include AMC+'s horror anthology SLASHER: RIPPER and HELL MOTEL, action-thriller BLACK WATER, hit webseries TEENAGERS and ALL FOR ONE; the children’s series, HOT WHEELS RACERVERSE and MATCHBOX ADVENTURES,, and original songs for the Netflix's MY LITTLE PONY: MAKE YOUR MARK.
His music has been heard at festivals including TIFF, Cannes’ Short Film Corner, Sundance, and LA Webfest. His work has aired on SYFY and CTV, and streamed on HULU, NETFLIX, NBC, and CRAVE. His soundtracks have been released through Milan Records.
Spencer was protégé and assistant to esteemed composer Lesley Barber, providing synth design, production, and additional music to Netflix’s LATE NIGHT, IRREPLACEABLE YOU, and AMERICAN WOMAN which premiered at Tribeca.
Spencer's unique musical practice merges classical orchestration, contemporary pop & rock, ancient folk traditions, organic human vocal textures, and on-site field recordings to craft a bold personification of the film’s subtextual essence. All in an effort to world build through music, and achieve the end goal of:

This approach catapulted him to success at an early age, resulting in over 150 combined films and series scored, music for a children’s theme park, and numerous awards including a record 13 SOCAN A/V Composer Awards before he reached the age of 30.
Outside the film world, Spencer creates orchestral arrangements for Symphonic Metal acts worldwide - including — JUNO-nominated album MARTYR, written by ex-Cradle of Filth’s Lindsay Schoolcraft and ex-Evanescence’s Rocky Gray; NECROMANTEUM from acclaimed San Diego deathcore band CARNIFEX; VAULT OF HORRORS from Belgium Death Metal legends ABORTED, and the upcoming BIG TROUBLE from the deathcore supergroup COFFIN FEEDER.
His work in video games includes Ubisoft’s TOM CLANCY: SHADOWBREAK.
When he's not creating music, Spencer loves studying folklore & myth, reading epic fantasy books, cooking new cuisine, and immersing himself in nature's wonders.
He lives in the small artistic city of Guelph, Ontario, an hour outside of Toronto.
