(bə-lŭk′sē, -lŏk′-) A city of southeast Mississippi on a peninsula between Biloxi Bay and Mississippi Sound on the Gulf of Mexico. Settled by the French in 1699, Biloxi is a resort with many casinos. In 2005, the city was devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
