MBE Awards[R] will be presented at the CRMSDC's 38th Annual Leaders and Legends Awards Ceremony, on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the MGM National Harbor.
Gad Kuju, who works for HM Customs, is recognised with an
MBE for services to diversity, multiculturalism and the Africa Oye festival, while Edith Martlew, of St Helens, receives an
MBE for services to her community.
The
MBE Program is an economic development tool for small businesses certified as socially and economically disadvantaged.
The youngest recipient is 20-year-old alpine skier Menna Fitzpatrick who picks up an
MBE for services to Paralympic winter sport.
"Veeco has earned a reputation for consistently developing innovative and reliable
MBE technology from research scale to production," said Petar Atanackovic, Ph.D., chief scientist at Silanna.
Northern Ireland captain Steven Davis was also at the Palace to receive an
MBE, which he called an "honour that I will cherish".
In March 1941, he was rewarded for all of his hard work during the war with an
MBE.
And while Stephen was approached just days before his death on May 14, the
MBE was only made public in the Queen's Birthday Honours published yesterday.
Paralympic champions Kelly Gallagher and her guide Charlotte Evans also each received the
MBE, while the nation's most successful female golfer Laura Davies is made a Dame.
England women's cricket captain Charlotte Edwards, 34, is made a CBE and an
MBE goes to her deputy, Jenny Gunn, 28.
Also honoured with
MBEs were Scots actress Siobhan Redmond, 53, and Paralympic cyclist Neil Fachie, 26, from Aberdeen.
Disability Sport Wales national performance manager Anthony Hughes got his
MBE for services to sport.
