She was Errol Flynn’s favorite leading lady…..they made 9 movies together.  She is one of only thirteen actresses to win more than one Best Actress Oscar®.  She was one of the most popular actresses in the 1930s and 1940s.  She is the oldest living acting Oscar® winner….she took over that spot when Luis Rainier passed away last year.  She was in my book, the best ever Maid Marian to ever appear on movie screens….1938’s The Adventures of Robin Hood. Shebwas one of the last surviving cast members of 1939’s Gone With The Wind. She was in the best killer bee movie ever made….ok….maybe The Swarm was not a career highlight for her. She was nominated for an Oscar® 5 times in her career.

That is one impressive resume for the latest Ultimate Movie Rankings page subject…..Olivia de Havilland.  Olivia de Havilland (1916-2000) had 59 acting credits from 1935-1988.  In the table below Ultimate Movie Rankings ranks 48 of her movies in 6 different sortable columns. Movies made for television, television appearances and cameos were not included in the rankings.

  1. RIP Olivia! Last great classic star standing? Articles about her keep talking about Gone with the Wind , but as this page shows, she made so many great movies. I liked her best in The Heiress opposite Montgomery Clift.

  2. May you rest in peace MS De Havilland!
Thank you for all the wonderful memories, inspirations, and dreams your films filled millions with. We will never forget you.

  3. Never did Olivia De Havilland here. Liv was on the 2000 list but fell off afterward. These are the actors she appeared with on the 2020 list.

Now before you jump and say someone’s missing, I noticed it. James Caan was in Lady in a Cage (1964) with Olivia. He was # 62 on the 2018 list and he fell off the list (!!!???). Man works pretty consistently and he’s gone, seems strange to me.

Olivia appeared with 42 Oscar winners.

    1. Hey Dan. Thanks as always for providing this information. Sadly the last two lists were actors who had just recently passed. First things first. James Caan is off the list? I agree with you 100%, that makes no sense at all. He has 10 movies since 2015 (the ones I have seen are horrible) and 4 more in post=production….that is almost 3 a year. Something seems wrong.

First list: Lots of good actors on this list. A legend gets the most frequent Oracle co-star…Bette Davis with 5 movies. Second list: 42 movies is above average for an actress. Interesting trivia tidbit. The Swarm out performs Gone With The Wind in this category….not thinking that happens too often…lol. Good stuff. Rest in Peace Dame Olivia de Havilland.
