Posting Schedule

We were originally going to share this in September, but we've had some requests to have the schedule sooner, so here it is!

This event officially ends on September 8th, but you have until your posting date to continue working on your gifts!

If at any point there you realize that you're going to need more time, just let us know before September 1st and we will try to switch your date, with the permission of the person you'd be switching with.

If you still need more time after this cutoff date, don't sweat it! After all, this is all for fun at the end of the day. We won't be able to make official changes to the schedule in September, so just take the time you need and post your gift whenever it's ready.

A Not So Lazy Morning.

One morning TK wakes up to find out that his husband has decided on a new hobby, unfortunately for TK, the mishaps that follow lead him back to a hospital bed.

TK woke up to the scent of coffee coming closer to him, he opened his eyes to see his husband standing next to the side of their bed with two steaming mugs. “Have I told you that I love you lately?” TK asked as sat up to take the mug from Carlos’ outstretched hand.

“Yes, you have but, you can say it as many times as you want. I love you too.” Carlos told him as he leaned over for a kiss. “Now get up and get in the shower, we have plans.”

TK arched a brow, asking “We do? Are they fun plans or errands?”

The first time Jessica saw them was a few weeks after officially opening up her taco truck. Business wasn’t exactly booming yet so she spent most of her days people watching.

She’d seen the cop hanging around near her truck for a while and wondered what he was doing.

She had a half a mind to call him over and ask before she saw another guy, in a uniform she didn’t immediately recognise, walk up to him and his face light up.

They were close enough to hear their conversation and she couldn’t help but eavesdrop.

“Hey…” the cop said happily as the other guy walked up to him. Jessica noticed the Austin fire logo on his shirt. He’s a firefighter then. They awkwardly smiled at each other for a moment before the firefighter pulled the cop in for a hug.

“Did you find it alright?” the cop asked.

“Sure.” he replied. “I’m starting to find my way around this small town better every day.” He grinned.

The cop groaned.

“You’re never going to let me forget that are you?”

“You’re the one who called Austin a small town. I looked it up, Austin is the fourth most populous city in the state with a population of almost one million people.”

“Well in my defence, if you knew my mother, you’d understand. I think she knows at least 75% of those people. If not more.” The cop insisted as they walked over to the truck to order.

Jessica tried to compose herself to not let on she’d been listening in on their conversation.

“Would you consider Austin a small town?” The firefighter asked the her before she could even think of taking their order.

“Uh… no not exactly…”

“Thank you!” he exclaimed and turned to the other guy. “See? She agrees with me.” He turned back to the her. “He called Austin a small town.”

“I just meant the community. Cops. Firefighters. First responders. They all know each other.”

“Uh no, that’s not what you said.” The firefighter grinned, clearly enjoying the argument.

Not the Picture That Comes with the Frame

A 9-1-1 Lone Star Fic

He flicks through the folder, though he purposefully tilts it so that TK can't see what's inside. After a few seconds, Carlos pulls out a printed photo. It's got writing on the back that's partially covered by Carlos' hand, but TK can make out the number five scrawled in sharpie. Carlos looks at him and hesitates before flipping the photo for TK to see. "I need you to remember that you're safe here, alright?" he says.

Safe? TK thinks. It didn't exactly occur to him to question that, but then he looks down at the photo in Carlos' hands and gasps. The picture is of him in what is clearly their apartment building's lobby. He's waiting on the elevator with a grocery bag in one hand and a bouquet of flowers in the other, completely oblivious to the fact that he's being photographed.

A few months into their marriage, life throws TK and Carlos a curveball in the form of a stalker. Carlos decides to do the only thing he knows how to: he's going to protect his husband, no matter what it takes.

An out-of-control truck barrelling towards the scene of an accident that the 126 are responding to forces both Marjan and Nancy to confront feelings they’ve been trying to avoid.

She’s desperate to run to Nancy’s aid. But that’s normal, right? It doesn’t mean anything. It’s just because Nancy is her friend—her best friend—and it’s normal to be scared when your friends are in danger. She was scared when TK got shot, not this scared, sure, but she didn’t know TK as well back then. She felt a lot like this when she found Paul unconscious though, but again not quite the same. Everyone feels like they’re dying when their friend is in danger, don’t they? It’s just fear—a normal, expected amount of fear. Concern for a friend and nothing more. It can’t be more because she can’t be in love with Nancy. She can’t be. The room doesn’t get warmer, or the walls closer the way Salim described, so it can’t be love, right? Sure, Nancy is perfect, and when she texts Marjan, it makes her feel warm and fuzzy inside. Sure, she’d do anything just to see Nancy smile, and on occasion, she’s wondered—just briefly—what it might be like to kiss those perfect, plump lips, but everyone thinks these things sometimes, don’t they? Everyone has the occasional girl crush, but it doesn’t mean anything.

Summary: After his father's death and after marrying his soulmate, Carlos Reyes leaves his job with the APD and joins the District Attorney's office as a Victims Services counselor to help his community by assisting victims of crime in getting justice. Even as he throws himself into his new job, he finds himself in the middle of a disturbing crime, one he becomes determined to solve, which leads him into dark places. Luckily, he has his husband and his friend, Paul, to accompany him as they track down a dangerous killer together, only to realize that the killer has been a lot closer than they thought.

Walking along the riverfront,  Nancy took in the beauty around her. From the gorgeous reflection of the setting sun off of the river to the breathtaking woman on her arm.  Marjan is the first one to break the silence of their walk, “So… Are we telling people? About… us?”  “Well, Carlos already knows, which means TK knows, because that man can’t keep a secret. So I'm sure by tomorrow the entire 126 will know.”

Happy Posting Week!

Hello everyone! Posting is going to kick off in a few days, so we wanted to go over some of the questions we've been asked.

When my posting day arrives, can I post in my own timezone?

Absolutely! The assigned days serve two purposes. Giving each person's gift room to breathe and be seen by everyone, and to count down the last 12 days before season 5 arrives. There are no rules for which timezone you have to post in or which time of day you can post.

Do we have to post everything at once, or can we post chapters separately?

You can definitely post each chapter separately! We didn't want to set any expectations for fic length, but we do know that a lot of you have written some lengthy fics so we want you to post them in the way that makes the most sense for you.

When do I reveal who my gift is for?

You reveal when you post!

How do I post to the ao3 collection?

Do everything the way you normally would, and then in the "associations" section the first option there allows you to add to a collection. You can also find it here.

What do I do if I need more time?

First of all, please do not worry about it! We're all here to have a good time, and this event is not meant to be a source of stress. If you do end up needing more time, all we ask is that you refrain from posting until everyone else's posting day has passed. After that, post whenever you're ready! You can also reach out to your giftee to let them know what your situation is if you'd like.

One week left!

Happy September everyone!!

We only have one week until this event ends. I can't believe how fast the time has passed this summer! We're only 22 days away from season five, and there are only 10 days until the start of our exchange countdown.

Please refer to this post to see when your assigned posting day will be. The deadline for official schedule changes has now passed.

Our ao3 collection is now live. If you are posting your work to ao3, make sure to add it here!

Here are a few notes/rules for posting.

  • We have so many talented creators participating in this event and we want to make sure all of these unique gifts have a chance to shine, so please do not post on someone else's posting day. It is absolutely not a big deal if you need more time! Please just be mindful and wait until after everyone else has posted.
  • Please also be kind in the tags and comments. I'm sure this doesn't need to be said, but I will reiterate just in case. No hate, harassment, or nasty comments will be allowed.
  • If you would like to post a teaser for your work, whether it be a playlist, an edit or moodboard, or just a summary, definitely feel free to do so! Tag us and we will reblog them all here. Just make sure you don't spoil who your gift is for until your posting day!

Last Day to Drop Out

Today is our drop out deadline. We all know life can get in the way sometimes, and that's okay! If you need to drop out, just dm us and we will get a pinch hitter to fill in.

If you don't need to drop out, this is your check in post!

Officially, this portion of the event ends on September 8th, but posting will take place between September 11th and September 22nd so you will have until your posting day to finish your gifts!

We will be sharing a posting schedule during the first week of September, but if you find that you're going to need a little extra time just let us know and we'll push your posting day back for you.

Please don't hesitate to come to us with any questions or concerns you may have. We can't wait to see everyone's gifts next month!
