Product was what was claimed. 10 of 10 IR LEDs were functional. Human eye cannot see IR wavelength so I used my camera to "see" the LED's light. I used KY-026 module (IR photodiode plus amplifier circuit) to test the transmission distance (photo). Max transmission distance approx 50cm (Max current limits the maximum distance).10 of 10 IR photodiodes were functional. Current generated from an IR source was very low (nA-uA range). Other reviewers stated that they failed when using this LED as the IR source for the photodiode. Given the LOW range, failure is not surprising. Use with a suitable amplifier circuit MAYBE successful.

    They’re really sensitive, they worked great. W/ oout opamp i was seeing a voltage drop of like .002. So use your opamps 👍🏻 i made a pulse oximeter with them, it worked great.

    These are probably not for most people. They are electronic components meant for breadboard or soldering into a circuit. I used them to replace a broken sensor on a co2 car track. Worked great. Pay attention to polarity. If you're looking for these, and know what they are, then they are probably what you need. If you're looking at these and wondering what they are, don't buy them.

    The Ice-full indicator on my HZB-12 ice maker began to always show ice-full even when there was no ice in the machine. It wouldn't make ice any more. There is a work-around to bypass the ice-full sensor by holding in the cube-size "select" button for 10 seconds, but it's annoying to do that all the time. It only lasts for 10 cycles of ice making.
    I searched on-line and found out that the most likely cause of the problem was a failed infrared LED emitter. A YouTube video suggested this emitter would work in the machine. I replaced the LED infrared emitter and it solved my problem. The ice maker started to work again and the ice-full indicator came on when the ice tray was actually full.
    The hardest part of the repair was to carefully dig out the enormous amount for hot glue that was used to embed the wiring and sensor. Once that was done, the repair was easy. I used silicone sealer to secure the sensor and wiring so that it would be easier to remove if I ever have to replace the emitter again in the future. I now have 9 spare emitters to use.

    I bought these to learn about infrared communication and how devices like infrared remotes send data. The receiver was nice to be able to record signals and view them to learn how they work, and then the LEDs were great for replicating the signals to try and control the devices myself. This is a nice starter kit if you want to learn about infrared communication.

    My only issue is that the distance on these things isn't very good. I can't seem to get the 7-8 meters advertised out of these things reliably. They're really nice for close-range communication and data transfer, which is probably what I'll end up using them for, but not very good for remote controlling things at a distance.

    As I said - they do work - sort of! BUT - the photodetector is NOT a photodiode as described, but rather a phototransistor (others have found this too). So if existing circuitry requires a photodiode, you're out of luck. Still easy to use for basic low frequency (IR remote etc.) work, though. Plus, the stated range of ~8 meters is simply insane; plainly the seller doesn't have a clue about these devices & is simply throwing descriptions against the wall & hoping they'll stick. For basic short range work, though, they will work well.

    Beware! The IR photodiodes respond to visible light. A complete waste of time as an IR detector, which is what they were bought for.
    And data on these parts is not provided and nor I could not find any. I bought 20 pcs, but only received 17 in the bag.
