- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2024Hall Effect joysticks are the future. The joysticks feels very responsive and smooth. The buttons have a nice feedback feel to it, like a soft, plushy click.
I hope this lasts longer than all the other 1st-party/3rd party brands that weren't hall-effect.
One gripe I do have is the back buttons, the one closest to the center (M3 and M4).
They can be a bit annoying to reach. I measure 8 inches form my middle finger to my wrist for reference. If it was an actual paddle, it'd be easier to reach since you can theoretically maintain the same position of the (M1 and M2) buttons to reach the M3 and M4 buttons.
I've attached a picture comparing the controller from the "Aim" brand for reference.
Overall, I would still recommend this until better Hall Effect controllers become more wide-spread with better ergonomics for the backpedal. The software was easy to use as well.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2024I want to start off by stating that I love this controller, it has many great features not found in many “premium” controllers, for a fraction of the cost. If you’ve found your way to this controller, then I’m sure you’re aware of its biggest selling point - Hall effect joysticks. They work very well thus far! I mostly play FPS games, and the fact that these joysticks are always centered, even with zero deadzone, escalates my gameplay to another level. Be aware you should set the deadzone in the app, as well as in the settings of whatever game you’re playing. One thing to note regarding Hall effect controllers is that although they are less prone to stick drift, they are not immune. The quality of the spring used in the joystick may be the factor that determines its longevity. Other awesome features I like include the clicky, tactile feel of the buttons and trigger - I don’t think I can ever go back to mushy buttons ever again! The gyro function gives me a little more control with aiming. Also, the app works pretty well now. I know some users had a bad experience with the app, but it looks like with the newer version, they were able to solve many bugs as I haven’t had any real issues with it.
Now onto the less-than-ideal features (but still good). The back buttons could be better. I find them to be too small and only somewhat ergonomically placed. Competitors have much more intuitive back buttons, some even replaceable with different angles to fit your hand better. I also didn’t like the joystick caps not because of the caps themselves but since I like putting kontrolfreeks on the caps, neither the PS or Xbox ones fit. I ended up opening the thing, which by the way smells like cancer (ie melted plastic), and replaced the joysticks with Xbox ones. With kontrolfreeks and restrictor rings on, short triggers, and all the other awesome features, my gameplay has been next level!
I also did some software latency testing (ie theoretical) and was getting about 2-3 ms and 500hz polling rate. Would love this even more if I could overclock this thing. I’m in the process of obtaining a hardware latency tester but others have already tested the latency of this device and many others - search for “Gamepadla”. The Vader 3 pro scored fairly well against other controllers!
Note that this review only reflects dongle and wired connections. I’ve yet to try this in switch and have read that the Bluetooth is not great.
Overall I’m very pleased. I am curious to see how long these sticks maintain being centered, only time would tell! If you’re on the fence, just get it, it’s fairly cheap and its joysticks would likely last longer than any premium controller with analog sticks. I would never buy analog joysticks again to be honest!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2024Best controller I’ve ever used. I have tried dual sense, Xbox elite, and other third party controllers and this is by far the best for overall functionality and ergonomics.
The drivers make the controls easily and fully customizable. The gyro controls in particular can be customized just like on steam deck, if you are familiar. You can set any button to activate the gyro controls — either by toggling or holding down — and the gyro can be set to behave as a mouse, left analog, or right analog stick. And with six extra buttons (m1-4 on the grips, and c and z a little below the face buttons), you have plenty of options.
Also the buttons feel great, it has the best and most responsive D pad I’ve ever used, and the triggers can be set to click or pull. I could go on but basically this controller combines every major innovation to gamepads in one complete package!
It’s a bit tricky to get it working with steam input and steam deck though. For some reason, steam input registers the face buttons backwards so that if you set it to “Nintendo mode” it will behave like an Xbox controller and vice versa. I recommend disabling steam input for this controller so that it uses the settings placed in the driver. I haven’t tried to get the driver working on Linux (steam deck os) but I’ll give it a go.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2024I own a LOT of controllers: two Xbox elites, a razer wolverine chroma, dual senses and shocks galore, switch pro controllers, and basically every controller 8bitdo has ever made. Lately though, 1st party controller development seems to have stagnated, but on the bright side, a whole host of third party companies are stepping up.
I was first looped into this via buying a game sir T4 cyclone pro (which is a great pad in and of itself, highly recommended for the price) and it had quite a few features that I loved, including hall effect sicks (no drift!) and micro switch buttons (that click when you press them... Like a mechanical keyboard), and I soon started daily driving it as opposed to my elites.
The only downside to that controller is that it feels a little cheap, and it's quite light. Essentially, I wanted the "pro" version of the game sir.
Enter the Vader 3...it's, put bluntly, exactly what I wanted! It's heaftier, feels better built, has all of the same features as the cyclone in addition to locking hair triggers, and seems to have better 2.4g connectivity. Plus, the micro switches have much more tactile feedback.
I honestly have nothing negative to say about this pad, barring the new one that's even more premium than the Vader (need to check that out!) this is the game pad to buy.
One quick note though: I play 90% on pc, and have never used any of the software. I have tried the pad with my phone, and that worked great as well, but can't speak to switch performance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ótimo controle profissional
Na época eu tive sorte e paguei bem barato. Pegando uma boa promoção vale a pena demais!
