About the Author

Bil Tierney has been involved with astrology for over thirty-five years. As a full-time professional, he has lectured and given workshops at major astrological conferences throughout the United States and Canada since the mid-1970s. He has a special interest in studying the birth chart from a practical, psychological level that also encourages spiritual growth. He is a longtime member of the Metropolitan Atlanta Astrological Society (MAAS), and has served as its newsletter/journal editor several times. Bil’s work has been published in astrological publications such as Aspects and The Mercury Hour. The books he has written include Dynamics of Aspect Analysis, and the Llewellyn titles: Twelve Faces of Saturn, Alive and Well with Neptune, Alive and Well with Uranus, Alive and Well with Pluto, and All Around the Zodiac.

When Bil is not busy with client consultations, lecturing, tutoring, and writing articles and books, his other big passion is computers. Clients enjoy Bil’s animated, warm, and easy-going style, and they are impressed with his skillful blend of the intuitive and the analytical. His humorous slant on life is appreciated as well.     I bought this book at the beginning of a Neptune transit to my sun. I read it and loved it for it's upbeat attitude and humor. There is a lot of good advice here without all the doom and gloom often associated with this watery planet. In fact, Bil Tierney tells the reader that to get the doom and gloom you must look elsewhere since he is focusing on the higher side of Neptune and the often unreported positive effects this planet can have.

    Now that the Neptune transit to my sun is about halfway through I am as confused as ever by Neptune but am certainly glad I took the time to read this book at the beginning. It prepared me in many ways and still I am reminded that this planet is bringing out what is truly inside my heart and soul; it's just that the rest of my life has gotten in the way and has blocked those dreams and aspirations.

    Anyone who has a strong natal Neptune or major Neptune transit can certainly benefit from reading this inspired work. And of course practicing astrologers can benefit from a view of Neptune from a loftier place, instead of from the bottom of the ocean where so many of the classical interpretations seem to come from.

    The author gives a lot of useful and in-depth realizations of Neptune but just brushes by one of the areas Neptune is most known for: the spiritual. Neptune doesn't hold the exclusive on spiritual influence, but is so connected to the spiritual and gifts of the intuitive (clairvoyance, clairaudience, etc)that I would want several instances as well as spiritual perspectives to be included in any work on this planet. Altho' not comprehensive, it's a good read and helpful.

    I thought this book about Neptune was not as clear as it could be. Lol. I think being immersed in the subject of Neptune affected the writing of it.
    The author breaks down Neptune by house and aspect, but I feel the writing trailed off a lot. I like crisp writing--say what you want to say and then stop.
    I think this book is of value, however, especially for the beginning astrologer.

    の本、"Alive and Well with Uranus"もこれに先立ち著しているのだが、本書はその
    続編であり、現在ではなんと更なる続編、"Alive and Well with Pluto"迄ある。

    著者の本書に於ける文体について。

    海王星について書かれているだけの事もあってか、ポエジーに溢れている文体であ
    るといえる、そして同時に、時に冗長になっている文体である、ともいえる。結果、
    見なれぬ英単語が、恰も海王星のごとく増長、頻出する機会を助長している、といえ
    る。

    一例として、トランジット海王星に対峙する、難儀さに関するくだりで著者は、

    "However,that's often easier said than done,especially with a tricky planet
    like Neptune who'd rather slip in through the back door,unnoticed,than meet
    us face-to-face on the front porch"（p.26）。

    英単語のヴァリエーションが増長するのは、私達日本人−英語を得意とする方々は
    ともかく−にとって、本書を読みすすめるうえで、厄介な点のひとつである。海王星
    だから、この文体なのだろうか?天王星の本では、天王星らしく、もっとシャープな
    文体なのだろうか? この疑問は上記、天王星本を購読すれば解決する事なのだが。

    ともあれ、著者は'70年代から活躍なされているAstrologerであり、書かれている内
    容にまちがいはないと言える。それに本編に入ると、遅くとも−レヴュアー個人の場
    合で恐縮であるが−ハウスのトランシット（p.57〜）を読むあたりでは、慣れて来、
    内容に充分集中できるものと思われる。
